Question: If you guys enjoy a certain book, do you tend to go look for more books by the same writer or just move onto another one when you are done?

I try other works of the same author if I like the first book I read. Maybe not immediately, most of the time I take a break, read other authors' works, and then come back to the first author, but if there's a book I like very very much, then I jump straight to his other works too, especially if it's a series.

Another book I have been wantng to read is Big Little Lies

I also wanna read Thirteen Reasons Why someday, though the show was disappointing.

I really liked the show 13 reasons why. Though they unnecessary dragged it for 4 seasons. But I enjoyed watching the first two seasons.

Also to reply an earlier ques ( I apologize for missing)

I usually end up reading every book of the author I like. It's not a healthy habit to inculcate. That's why I never get to try new authors. I get sucked into familiar author vortex.

Yeah the story is good but the series was dragged. You could just watch the beginning and end and understand the whole story.😆 That is why I want to see how the book is, since its so popular.

I would also love for a movie or show to be made on it but the last news there was on this movie was in 2019. I wonder if they will go ahead with it.

IT is just one massive book. I haven’t read any reviews of The Long Walk. Books like The Green Mile, 11.22.63 are said to be departures from Stephen King’s regular writing. I would like to read them one day, especially, 11.22.63.

I found The Girl on the Train okay. I don’t think I’ve read a single book by Nicholas Sparks. When I wanted to read it in college everyone told me his books have sad endings so I stuck to reading thrillers.

If I really like an author I tend to read most of their books. Not consecutively, but I keep in mind that I would like to read their other books. Like for instance, I’ve read all of Sidney Sheldon’s books, Gillian Flynn’s books and a quite a few of Colleen Hoover’s books as well. I plan to read all of Khaled Hosseini’s books and the prominent books of Stephen King and Margaret Atwood.

I give myself a gap before I pick up another book from the same author though. When I was younger I used to want to finish reading all books of the same author and only then move on to reading another author’s works.

I haven't read any Nicholas Spark book and I don't plan to read one either. I have watched few of the movies. They are okay. I am into let's watch a sad movie and cry my eyes out anymore. Adulting does the job very well on its own😆.

BTW the stories were similar. Lovers meeting in summers. There was some terminal illness. Somebody's death. And definitely something to bind them together ... Letters usually or coins. Very cliché tbh.

Maybe because of the pandemic everything slowed down, I hope we get an update next year.

Anyway I am so involved in this book I dont think I have ever invested myself so much in any book. I am already nearly finished and I dont want it to end but still I cant stop reading. I dont think ill be able to get into any other book after this.😭

I like sad endings and cliche romance so thats why I want to give it a try, even though I heard all his novels almost have the same story yet he is so popular.😆

bold: I was doing the same thing, but now I am trying to get comfortable with different authors before coming back to the same one again. Have you read any books by Jamie Mcguire? I was literally reading all her books one after another, Beautiful Disaster, Maddox Brothers Series, Red Hill, Providence Series, All the little lights...it was only because of this club I started reading other writers novels lol.

idk i like reading sad stuff rather than fantasy...i find it more relatable to real life maybe😆
