yes...the only one i think was properly written might be sonakshi bose probably from KRPKAB (excluding the OTT drama in the middle before the pace was picked up)..idk if there are any other strong independent ones ...even YHM had Dr. Ishita bhalla as dentist and the show was great in the first 50-70 episodes later on, SP channel pressure & poor writing screwed the show + continued drama of ruhi custody battle...

It used to be one of my favs back then. Noticed the discrepancies only recently.
Agree for Suman's character too. Idk why but most times female characters tend to suffer the wrath of poor writing, irrespective of the gender. Only a few manage to include strong, independent women with believable flaws.
idk about dude or girl writing the characterization but getting to write from a woman's POV is really important also if they still wanna retain a dude writing a female character...ill give u one more example...i like the concept of YUDKBH where they used the present naina voiceover to describe naina back in the 90s...that was a fresh change to see as opposed to shows that were focused on current era...i guess ill be somewhat partial to KRPKAB & YUDKBH bc (despite some OTT drama i kinda found )the FL either represented on an equivalent or if not better level than the ML...(not being a sudden feminist & all but just what i observed except including family drama)...YPNTKH also had potential but the FL kept on denying that her father wasnt as what sid described before she took the matters into her own hands & that too in the last remaining episodes before she broke down..
3 idiots had some very problematic scenes....this is why we need more female directors and writers. In fact I think even for our show, that is why Suman's character is not well-developed...because it's written by a dude
