I have a feeling that the makers had a different idea when they began writing the story. They probably wanted it to be mafia-spy love story

But after seeing Riansh popularity...n general psyche of the public, they decided to change Vansh to a righteous man. Maybe ruthless in his business n all...but not mafia or criminal.

Even Riddhima has forgotten that phone fiasco before marriage...in fact, she has even forgotten about Neha. 😆
