I guess you are going by age with current education system.

Then it was only till 10th that is SSLC which can be completed by 15 yr and in that era they had double , tripple promotion for brainy students, if you remember on first epi , salim his friend praised him for finishing barrister this soon. And for doing barrister then 3 yrs and practicing it will be 2yrs , we know that ani is yet to practice his barrister yet.

So fundamentally he should be 18 or 19.

Anirudh returned from London after 10 years, and went there when he was around 10 years of age. They showed / hinted at this in the initial episodes.

And in the pre-independence era, people finished the British "Barrister at Law" degree by the age of 20 years.

It's like the 3 years Bachelor's degree nowadays, which is complete around the time a person is 20 years.

Anirudh is around 20 years of age, and the show is set in 1915 (seen in his certificate)!

I guess Bondita should be 9 or 10 years of age now, from what they are showing. So they have an age gap of around 11 years.

This was the norm during those times and such an age gap was seen in every house - telling this from 1st hand accounts.

Bihari also mentioned when Bondita entered the haveli for the first time, that Anirudh's mother was also of Bondita's age when she got married to Binoy!
