Is there a limit on the number of pages on the threads still? I have been filling up the SOSY thread with my lame comments.

Absolutely agree to this one. II and Veev are two different poles. One extremely confident yet a bundle of insecurity and the other all into herself and her research but confident with herself! But R&B and Raanav are two pompous asses in the start and yet can’t seem to take their eyes off from their girls 😁

I know we are yet to know Raanav more and I’m sure he’s not like R&B considering R&B never showed off the fact that he was rich or boasted about it and put the others down.

You got to agree though Satyan and Ranjan are same 😂 JK but Satyan is officially entering my fav character league.

Sush,

II was overly self confident, argumentative, hot headed, person who wore her professional success on her sleeve. She was conscious of herself and became aware of him early on. She decided she was too good for him, she had a low opinion of him, and under estimated him consistently and yet they both pursued each other

Viveka is the exact opposite! She is still striving to make a mark in her field, she is very intelligent but not arrogant. She is relaxed and not high strung. She is not crazy about attracting the attention of the opposite gender. She loves her subject and doesnt really pay any attention to anything else

Its KayKay Menon's Birthday today I recall this interview, he talks about "life's calling" and career. He says career made him a lot of money, but theater gave him JOY. He also says every person has a wonderful talent

It reminded me of myself.

Yeah I have a job I make money, do the work, contribute....

But WRITING, gives me SO MUCH JOY. Yeah I am not the most popular on this Forum, or the Internet, or anywhere, you guys the 20 or 30 reward me painstakingly day after day and encourage me and stoke my fire

I am sooo thankful

THIS makes me so happy

Its like I cook a bunch of food and set it out on my front porch just because I love to cook :)

@ereader and @avchaudhry

Please dont be nervous. I am not a genius by any stretch of imagination, we have enough people judging us daily about how we look, what we wear and how we work how we drive, what we said in a text, what we said when we met

just post whatever comes to mind

I DO

As u all know😃

Stirring up

Unknowingly he checked his reflection in the rear viewmirror, he wore coffee cotton trousers and a green check shirt rolled at hiselbow as always

he hadn’t shavedthis morning, he rubbed his jaw thoughtfully he hated the untidy look but theEmbassy had preponed his appointment because the guy was leaving 6 to theairport

He wasn’t meeting him per se, he was going to dropdocuments off for the government

He got off and locked his car turning around

Took the lil pink slip the parking attendant with a whistlein his mouth and 5000 keys around his wrist gave him

“Chabi de do sir”

“Nahi”

“Gaadi aage peechhe karni padegi maare ko” he yelled

“Maine deewar ke saath lagayi hai, kaha ghumaogey?” hechallenged

The attendant cursed under his breath and waved him off

“Jackass” he muttered

He had to enter old fashioned registers in two places

He was made to wait at the end of a corridor “Madamimtehaan le rahin hai”

“Jaanta hoon”

“Ruk jao aap” the guy watched a soap on his phone

He texted Viveka just as he watched her step out surroundedby 20 somethings

“I took two classes long ago, I am old as dirt” I don’t evenremember

“You look like a student” one actually hit on her as Raanavwatched

He was umm.. quite OK… umm.. yeah

She laughed throwing her head back

And then pushed her glasses up her nose

“I am almost 30, ANDI am not grading your test” she smiled joyously

“You look great” he insisted

The crowd reached Raanav

There was no sign of recognition on her face

She looked at her phone smiled and responded, pausing

Raanav thought “Oh finally”

Then she called that someone and began to chat live

“You wont believe the kind of things I hear”

The students dissolved

Raanav followed her

She mumbled and giggled and flirted and didn’t hang upuntil he cleared his throat

She did hang up

“ Thank u” she mumbled politely just lowering the stack ofbooks and journals and answer sheets she was carrying

He just placed it on top

He shrugged, instead of saying you are Welcome

They walked in the same direction and didn’t say a word toeach other

He couldn’t help himself

“Breeding ground for budding socialists” he scoffed

“Oh yeah… you can say that… for sure… but most are snatchedaway by the cruel hands of Adam Smith”

“If THAT doesn’t tell you how misplaced the idea ofsocialism is…” he mumbled

“No its not” she paused and looked up at him grimly

“How can you say that with a straight face in a countrylike India”

She really didn’t care who he was, or what he did for aliving, she was going to make her impassioned plea anyway

“If it worked we would have no poverty by now” he tuckedhis hands in his pockets

She strained under the weight of books

“I can get that” he said awkwardly

“They are not heavy” she said possessively hugging them forwarmth

“Its not black and white, if we didn’t have programs like Farmer assistance andRural poverty eradication, we would lose millions every year”

“Exactly my point trickle down economics does not work hasnot worked, in 70 years”

“India is so dependant on monsoons, the agriculture… or theirrigation infrastructure is so reliant on nature”

“You are making all my points…. Allow private enterprise,and see how it transforms the farmland in 2 years”

“That is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard”she began walking

He regretted it? Well he wasn’t going to admit it

“If the old methods don’t work… as they clearly have not”

“You are wrong I am sorry… people that live on Rs.5 orRs.10 a day cannot be expected to buy water for crops from large conglomerates…its cruel and inhumane” her face was flushed overcome with emotion

“Thank you for the power cord…” she mumbled ready to splitfrom him

He hoped she would turn to look at him

She didn’t show any sign of familiarity yet again

~~~
Mili beta power cord
“Hmm” Viveka looked up from the journal she was readingdigging into the delicious soupy khichri
It was a rare May evening, stormy and a handful of degreescooler
“rakho beta article” Anubha scowled
“I spent the whole day moving and teaching and proctoring,I HAVE to study, if I am going to be invited to interview
“Kharagpur mein jaakar kache chawal mat kha lena”
She laughed out loud
“Lunch khayi tum?”
“Umm.. no, I moved until 3 and then had a giant argumentwith the guy who came to give me my power cord”
“Maine aapko kaha tha… they live in the stratosphere, theyhave no clue earth has a drought” Anu was disgusted
“Meh… I don’t care… he started it”
Akash looked at Anubha and shook his head sadly
“Naina se baat ki?” Anu asked pointedly
Naina was again “working late”
“Nahi Ma… I missed two trains.. I was going to go toGurgaon and return with her”
“Haan subah meri gaadi lekar gayi, Karu ko chhodne” (Karunahad kathak lesson tonight so she would be dropped off by another parent)
“Diya kidhar hai?”
“Lab tha uska”
“ITNI der?” Viveka was alert now
“TUMHARA koi social life nahi hai, usko LAB kar lene do”Anubha laughed
“Hmm” her shoulders slumped again
“Abhshek ko kab la rahi ho?”
“Kal” Viveka smiled and blushed and stirred her khichri….
Anu smiled… relieved
