I said it in some other post also, they are trying to portray the sad state of women in that era, how much humiliation they used to face when husband left him. He is really not understanding the gravity of the situation.

Yeah shre, they are trying to show that phase of women . Maybe he really doesn't aware of the fact.

Remember sampoo said that she will prefer to be a servent in her inlaws her whole life than going to her maayka. Damn my heart goes to all women who went through such tough phase in life.
