There isn’t any assessment in Bollywood bc there Bollywood families are gatekeepers. In Hollywood, NBC, CBS, FOX, Disney, etc all require prerequisites before anyone gets hired. Cinematographers go to films schools. Actors go to drama schools or work in short films. Bollywood is filled with talentless hacks because they have no requirements. And it’s hard to break in, if you aren’t part of the caste system.

So many people in Hollywood are related and lobbying goes on there also.

You’re comparing apples to oranges. A lot of Bollywood actors are handed opportunities. Uday Chopra despite going to film school has no talents other than being a son of a Chopra. He was still handed opportunities despite failing at the box office.

You asked me to show "nepotism is corruption" and this is the first line of conclusion of that entry: "Corruption is a highly diverse phenomenon, including bribery,nepotism, false testimony, cheating, abuse of authority and so on." Who decides who is professionally competent in bollywood?

is there mark sheets, interviews ? Designed pre requisites? licensing that has to be acquired?
Or is it based on i “like” this actor and I’m going to hire him?

I remember one year there was a huge fight over who was best among...Priyanka for Barfi, Sri for EV or Vidya for Kahani...utimately I think it was Vidya who got the award...and people were divided.....how do u decide who is a better actor between Vidya, Sri or Priyanka.....lets throw in Rani and Tabu in the mix too....how do u decide and is there a wrong answer in this?? 😆

Ur the one who brought up formal qualifications and interviews etc as a measure of competence

I’m saying people can get formal qualifications in any art form..does that mean they “deserve” opportunities?
