Your point about Bondita staying the same even if Ani is not with her: Well, I guess that can be true in serial world but in real word I don’t think that would be possible. As a kid, we see a lot of stuff, we here our elders words and make our judgement. When we are kids, we have no evilness in our hearts, we see things as is but when we get to hear all the opinions around us, the majority tends to win. Bondita, I believe, would have eventually come to terms with the society’s rules. She would have started to believe that maybe, just maybe, she was wrong, maybe all these things are good, maybe it is necessary. Her voice would have been pressed down, no one would let her talk. This show portrayes how women were treated back then may lightly then they were. We don’t see much about women’s treatment back then in this show which is literally suppose to be the premise of the show. Of course, we already know the basics, but will we ever dive down to see the darker areas too? And even if Bondi does manage to stay like herself, she wouldn’t have gotten the chance to actually make a change and use her voice. Because the reason why she got this freedom of speech I should say is because she is a Zamindar’s bahu, she got a husband like Ani’s who cares about gender equality. And they treat her much better than how others would treat their bahu’s back then.
Tbh, I don’t really think that Ani is being as bad as people in this forum tend to say. Whenever I watch the scene between him and mini, I don’t see or feel that betrayal that Ani is giving Bondi. Yeah there are times where he seems to turn around from his responsibilities but come on, he is just 20. It isn’t a age where you really understand all these stuff. This ain’t only about Bondi’s growth, it’s also about Ani. If we are going to celebrate Bondi’s achievements, we will also need to encourage Ani’s character development. We also need to give him his due credits.
