I think they thought children and teenagers are watching so they should make it in a way that they don't get uncomfortable watching the epic and their religious sentiments don't get hurt. But kaun samjhaye, nowadays children are more intelligent.

my 12 years old cousin ask me when upapandavas were running towards drau how did they born and they are so grown up🤣
