I love this brave Suman...she fights for her love....

Suman's plea to Satya was heart-wrenchingđŸ„ș😭

Read 3 chapters in a row and I'm feeling stumped. My heart feels heavy with the power of story telling and words you have.

Chapter 22

Wow! This chapter was a roller coaster! Loved the transition from a worried Suman to the thrilling chase. I was as anxious as Shravan throughout the read. Also I love how strong Suman's portrayed in your story. Vulnerable but strongđŸ‘đŸŒ

Chapter 23

Wow wow wow wow! I agree with all the comments before me! This was the best chapter! I still can't get over how beautifully it's written. The angst, the worries, the fear of losing all jammed into one! It's so good, it's gonna linger on my mind for a long time now.

P.S I absolutely loved how you mentioned Suman praying to her Bhaiyya. All these little nuances you portray makes one attached to your stories. I'm learning a lot from you. Thanks a ton!đŸ˜łđŸ€—

Chapter 24

Again a brilliant chapter! I don't how to describe it, the 26 letters falling short to my command. So deep, so connected, I replaced myself in Suman's shoes! The small little things included like Shravan in his daze trying to enquire if Suman was warm, Suman trying hard to voice herself out but faltering, Suman being distraught at the sight of tubes! I'm blown away.

I feel so elated right now! That's what I always feel when I read a piece so beautiful that I'd wanna spend hours pondering over the marvelousness of it.

Isn't it obvious I'm waiting with bated breath to read the next chapter

P.S So sorry at times I'm not able to reply as and when the chapter is published. The last few weeks being incredibly uneasy But whenever I read your chapters I feel something moved inside međŸ‘đŸŒ

P.P.S Sorry for the long post😆

For further details please refer to the case register details.

Suman had a closed door discussion with Anish, Saheb, Sash and Subbu . Subbu was concerned that they were running out of time. The Karwar trail has proven that they are on the right track. The men of Emanuel attacked Suman and Shravan in a bid to kill them so they could put pressure on the government to go slow on the case or slowly get it withdrawn. The idea was to create a huge furore and implicate the Chief Minister and his trusted aids not being careful enough and concerned about security of people and the agencies who are helping to reduce crime. This in turn would put pressure on NCB to take an action and withdraw its team due to risk to its personnel. Forced by all round pressure the government would move its focus to stabilizing itself rather than focus on a petty drug trail. The CM already had a confidential meeting with the heads of the investigative agencies, and he wants us to interwork with local security and the other central agencies to dig into everything they have and surround them as soon as possible before there is more damage. The advisory was to remain cautious and careful as the looming danger is still there for NCB folks. Subbu’s advice was to be discreet and watchful. Subbu and Sash were extremely happy that Shravan and Suman could finally make it out of the death trap but Suman was a little jittery after hearing all this. She never thought that they were a pawn in a much sinister plan and the fact that they had a close call made her throat go dry.

Suman had a lot of work to catch-up as she had been away in Karwar, then she had been busy with Shravan so it was late evening when Suman could manage to make her way to the hospital. She had not even had a proper lunch and just had some dry sandwiches so she could finish as fast as she could and rush back to her Shravan but one look at the ornate dial of her watch toldher that it was already past 6:30pm. Suman stomped her foot as she realized that the visiting hours were almost getting over and she will not be able to stay with Shravan for long. After cracking her brains, she recollected that she could speak to Sister Anita with whom she had developed a special bond when she had nursed her wound. She was not wrong, and Sister Anita had informed her that she has arranged an overnight pass for her so she could stay longer with Shravan. Suman was not someone who loved to break rules but falling in love had probably changed that for her. Her need to be with her love had made her sometimes tilt a little towards harmless flirting with rules. She rushed in to see a broad smile on Shravan’s face as soon as he saw her and it was the same way with Suman whose entire day of tiredness seemed to have dissipated the moment her eyes landed on Shravan and his smile. There were still some tubes plugged in but still Shravan was looking much better. As Suman reached Shravan’s bedside he reached out to hold her hands and kissed the knuckles which made Suman a beetroot red and her eyes immediately darted around to look if anybody had noticed their intimate moment but thankfully with the visiting hours being over not many people were around. Suman a little angry said “Shravan what are you doing, there are people around”. Shravan smiled his infectious smile and said, “Let them look and be jealous thinking how much we love each other”.

It was time for dinner and soup was served and the nurse stepped in to help Shravan drink the soup as his both hands at this point was immobile. Shravan smiled and his face glowed as Suman stepped in and said “Thank you sister for your help but I will manage”. Suman neatly tucked in the napkin, rolled up the bed and moved the table to make Shravan comfortable before she could take a spoonful to feed him. Shravan looked at the tired face of Suman and suddenly asked “Did you have lunch”? Suman nodded a yes when he asked, “Ok and what did you have, desk lunch”? Suman looked surprised towards him and said “Yes, how did you know”? Shravan smiled back and said “Not a hard guess because I am not around, and we have just been out of a chase so lots of things to collate and document. Suman, I am fine, you need not come here to take care of me. You also need to take care of yourself”. Suman looked sharply at Shravan and said “I suppose you do not realize how much I miss being with you and talking to you. Its not about you always, its about me too”. It took a few seconds for Shravan to realize that Suman had verbalized her need for him and he felt elated that Suman was finally opening up to him about her feelings and her needs. He cursed his immovable state for now he wanted to hold Suman close to his heart and make her listen his heartbeats which were in a sing song hearing her words. He laced his fingers with Suman’s and thoughtfully told her “Well, you could have told me that you are not taking care of yourself so you could faint in my arms and I could lift you and lovingly carry you home but you know , you just need a few more days before these doctors free me of these chains”, saying this he broke into a small bout of laughter as Suman slapped his hand lightly careful not to hurt him. They continued chatting and smiling having each other’s fill as Suman carefully made Shravan drink the hot bowl of tasteless soup. This is how a pair of eyes observed them from a corner of the ward.

Suman saw a short stout lady walk up to them giving her furtive glances. She quickly went to stand next to Shravan. Even before Shravan introduced Suman figured out that it was his mother who had come down early this morning and Sash had mentioned it to her earlier in the day. Once the introductions were over, she moved towards Suman and took the soup bowl away from her hands nudging her to shift a little as she started feeding Shravan the soup herself. Although she acknowledged Suman’s presence, but Suman realized that she was not being quite happy about her presence. Suman noticed that Shravan was oblivious to her mother’s state of mind and was busy relishing the care both ladies showered him with. It was only then Kavitha Malhotra said “Thanks Suman for helping Shravan with dinner but I think its late for you so go ahead and take some rest. I have come so I can take care of him. I am sure you have a lot of work to do and with my son not around as his colleague you have lot of ground to cover”. Although she spoke with thick Haryanvi accent Suman could figure out most of the context and quickly bade Shravan goodnight, turned on her heels and crept out of the room. Suman did not know the reason as to why Shravan’s mother was so cold with her, but she could not keep her emotions in check. She cursed herself for feeling so weak when it came to anything related to Shravan as she broke into tears inside the car clutching the wheels and resting her head on it as the tears drenched them.

Suman decided to keep away from Shravan as much as possible as long as his mother was around as she did not want her to feel discomfort neither did she want any confrontation between mother and son because of her .She was sure Shravan could see through her and would figure out that she was not feeling comfortable. Who was she kidding? Shravan had already known how Suman wanted to spend time with him and she had not turned up for two straight days had given him enough reasons to do a little investigation, after all he was not in police for nothing. If he was not wrong Suman would have secretly enquired about him in the hospital and she would not have checked in the reception but through someone who she would get the complete details. He was in deep thought when Sister Anita came to check his vitals and it struck him that she would be the one as Suman had struck a friendship with her. He smiled a bright Good Morning and started probing her a little about Suman and immediately she provided him all that he was looking for. Suman had indeed called and checked in detail about Shravan many times through the day. On asking she had confirmed that Suman had too much of work so she could not make it to the hospital. Shravan knew it was a lie, she wanted to meet him any day, anytime. Seeing his mood his mother enquired and a little lost he mentioned to her “Suman has not come visiting me Mumma”. Hearing this Kavita immediately replied back “Shravan these girls are all the same. Devika and now Suman. Good that she is not around, no need for faking it by feeding you soup and taking care. If I am around, I will take care of you”. Shravan was immediately able to join the dots recollecting what had happened that day and he realized that Suman was avoiding him as his mother was around. He knew Suman would avoid his calls so he used Sister Anita’s phone. As expected, “Yes, Sister, is Shravan fine. I hope you do not have bad news” the worried voice of Suman rang through Shravan’s parched ears. Not hearing a word Suman held to her phone for a few seconds before it struck her “Shravan”. Shravan smiled ruefully as he said in a hoarse voice “If you do not come to see me I will not be better it not worse”. When he did not hear anything just her breaths he continued “I know why you are not coming but I have taken care of everything.I will wait for you to come before the visiting hours close”.

Thank you SO much. I was a little shocked to see the dedication. It was highly unexpected. Feel honored.

As for the chapter- Oh no! Poor sumo. Her future mother in law doesn’t seem to like her very much! But shravan will fix everything for sure, he will show his mom that suman is nothing like devika. As always I’m eagerly looking forward to the next chapter

Nice chapter!! I like how Suman is slowly changing - she's bending the rules for Shravan and being more open about her feelings with him.

The case seems to be getting really interesting. I'm still confused about one thing - you said that they were being used as pawns...do mean that Subbu and Saheb already knew that Suvan could have been in danger and used them to lure the bad guys?

YIKES...Kavita seems like a possessive future MIL 😆 she reminds me of Dev's mother from KRPKAB. Hopefully she won't cause too much trouble between Suvan.

Will wait for your next chapter
