Intrigue, suspense and a mystery that seems unsolvable are the markers of a gripping thriller drama and when you add a sprinkle of complicated relationships, then you get the perfect recipe for a plot like no other.
This is exactly what MX Player did when they partnered with Vikram Bhatt and Mika Singh for their new thriller drama, Dangerous.
Directed by Bhushan Patel, this project sees Bipasha Basu return to the screen opposite her husband, Karan Singh Grover. After watching the 7 chapters, I can assure you that the story holds on to the mystery until the very last moment.
The story revolves around Aditya Dhanraj (Karan Singh Grover) who is trying to find his missing wife and Neha Singh (Bipasha Basu) is the lead officer on the case.
We are also told in the first chapter that Aditya and Neha have a romantic history that neither of them truly got over. This residue of emotions makes the storyline extremely interesting to watch because it adds a flavour of romance and longing.
The plot then quickly deep dives into finding his missing wife, Dia and the secrets that are uncovered at every turn will shock not only the characters but the viewers as well. The story is fast-paced and each chapter gives us a new twist that left me feeling surprised and impressed. The chemistry between Neha and Aditya added the sizzle that this crime-based thriller needed.
Bhushan Patel’s direction is commendable, he uses the U.K setting to his advantage and has shot in some spectacular backdrops, be it for the police chases, romantic scenes or flashbacks.

The performances are as solid as the plotline. Bipasha and Karan make the most of their extensive experience making sure that every scene is riddled with intensity and chemistry. This real-life couple was last seen together in Alone which released in 2015 so after a 5 year-long break, the now-married duo made it seem effortless on the screen.
This MX Exclusive also stars Suyyash Rai, Sonali Raut, Natasha Suri & Nitin Arora. Each of these actors plays a pivotal role in the story which makes this kidnapping case turn into a much more complicated riddle.
By the end of the 7 chapters, I was left wondering as to how I missed the subtle signs that the show drops in each episode, leading us to the final reveal. The story writing and direction made sure that this ‘whodunit’ mystery does not get an underwhelming end and that is exactly what they delivered.
