HER SHRIEK PENETRATED the sound of crashing waves in the air. The surface of water slammed into her body like concrete and reverberated through her muscles, and she wanted to plunge below until everything was drowned in silence once again.

The powerful waves, she had always loved them. And when they are roused, they could toss ships like toys, smashing them on the rocks.

She breathed in the salty breath of the oceans which only emanated poignancy. "I can't live like this," she cried.

The moment her foot would slip from the cliff's edge, she knew she was going to die. She knew her madness wasn't ceasing, it was only increasing. She returned her gaze to Aniruddh. Feeling the salty taste of the air on her tongue and the scent of the sea in her nostrils, she closed her eyes to evade the pain that tagged along.

Biding him a goodbye was difficult. After all, he was her husband, her guide, her rock, her everything...

"No, Bondita." Aniruddh caught her by wrist, making her turn on her heels, so that she's no longer facing the cliff. He tried to explain her, pacify her but nothing worked! Her forever expressive doe eyes, now glassy and pained. "This is not you. These are the pills talking. Throw them when we reach home, Bondita..." he choked out.

Bondita cried helpless, and she could remember Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet in that moment. Her madness was synonymous to hers. Maybe that's why she decided drowning was the best option to kill herself. She had always idolized her, after all!

Ophelia had drowned herself. Just like she was going to do.

She wanted her story to scramble with the final words:

Bondita drowned.

Ironically, so did Ophelia.

For a moment, she forgot about Aniruddh's presence; but when she looked at him, she couldn't help but smile, but that smile was laced with pain and insanity. "You saved me Ani, You saved me countless times, from my asshole dad, from Abir and from every other evil and I- I", she croaked breathless, "I love you Ani, I love you so much that it pains, but if you love me let me go..."
