I started feeling awkward. A lot happened in just a few hours. Baffled about what to do next, I stood. Told Pooja to sit down. She sat and I was just trying to think what next ....

I nodded like a mechanical doll and gestured Pooja to come upstairs, in my room, which is now equally hers as mine.

I didn't fail to notice her teary eyes. I sighed.

She followed me upstairs, without a word. Silently.

I went into my room with utmost helplessness.

Nahin aisa nahin ho sakta. Main yeh nahin hone de sakti. Itni badi baat ko aise kaise khatam kardoo. Ab mujhe hi kuch karna hoga

I sighed with smirky smile.

I looked over at my family. They were all too shocked to say anything.

“Kisi ko kuch puchna hai,”

I asked. Waiting for anyone to say anything, esecially Vasundhara, my bua.

When no one said anything, I went towards my room.

I looked over at my favorite place. For the first time, I didn’t wanna be alone. For the first time, I wanted to have someone else other than my already dead wife to be there, humming me songs, singing me lori’s.

And I wanted that someone to be Pooja, the wife of my brother.

I understood her hesitating...

I opened the door and we went in . I motioned her to sit on the couch and I took the chair.

Taking a deep breath, I said ,' Pooja, I won't break my promise. Never. Can I expect this much trust from you? Please? I respect everyone, and you too. I know we aren't a normal husband and wife... But we can be friends, right?'

I looked at her, waiting for an answer. Giving her time, I called up Kaka and told him to send food for her and me too. I know she must be hungry. I went in the washroom and came out soon... I was proceedings downstairs to get her belongings when kaka arrived with them and the dinner.

After he went away, Pooja opened her mouth to say something...

My heart wants to trust him but trauma I went through nodes No in return... I can't trust anyone easily now having experienced most bitter and ruthless journey...

I could sense he wanna hear something from me... But what can I utter other than gratitude...

I assorted myself and spell out few words to clear everything...

Ji suniye... I called him softly with Mellowed voice of fear... Mujhe thoda waqt chahiye... Mujhe maaf kijiye main.. I couldn't control my tears... Hence it rolled down my eyes....

Having finished my food, I payed on the couch and tried sleeping. But sleep was far away from my eyes. My ears where sharp enough to hear her footsteps... She slept on the bed after changing...

With a thousand thoughts in my mind, I dozed off too, although the couch was a bit uncomfortable...

This ended the day ...
