So, the reason I really liked the scene between Othoi and Shayan......
I don't think I had told this before specifically, but after Nazifa turned down his proposal, Shayan met Othoi the very next day and both of them were thinking about ways through which he could convince her.
At that point, Othoi felt if Shayan could befriend Ariana and Nazifa's MIL, may be it would help the situation and Shayan did it. This has been the only act by these two which I found really filmy and it could actually get them both into serious trouble.
Moving on, Shayan was in huge dilemma. Because he wanted Nazifa to accept him. And while he didn't have any objection in making her family his own, he felt it was cheating and emotionally blackmailing Nazifa into accepting him - which wasn't his idea of love.
But then again, he did it probably out of desperation.
So today he dropped Othoi at her varsity and openly confessed that he felt conflicted. Ariana was so sweet and he started loving the kid. He also felt a strong bond with Nazifa's MIL but at the end of the day, everyone was kept in dark. Like Ariana knows him but she doesn't know her grandma knows him too and vice versa. And they don't know whether it will be fruitful or not in the long run. So where does that leave him? What would he do? He doesn't want to leave them behind.
And Othoi accepted that may be it wasn't the best idea because she didn't think Shayan would be this conflicted. So she said, if he really felt that guilty, he could stop contacting them but Shayan said he actually started loving them. So cutting them off wasn't a solution anymore. Her idea wasn't bad either, it's just he was confused about how to balance out all those relations.
So they were like, okay, ab ho gaya to ho gaya, dekhte hain ki aage kya hota hain and their usual banter like she wouldn't mind if Shayan dropped her everyday. After all, she'll get a free taxi with such a handsome driver and they could have fun.
The thing I loved most was Shayan's conflict and Othoi's acceptance that may be, their idea wasn't really a good one. Because normally we don't see people accepting. Shayan is 28 but Othoi is 18+. She is matured but she can be wrong too in her judgement. She has a long way to go. So incorporating that thing and not making her a brat was the best thing the writer could do. I was really pissed when she first came up with this idea and Shayan agreed to it despite being skeptical. Acknowledging their blunder was a really good move by the writer.
