Even if there were somehow tests based on acting talent, he wouldn't have been on top. There are many other actors who are much better than him in BW. The level of fame he had was appropriate for his talent. He was good enough to keep getting movies on and off but he wasn't the type that was going to be on top as a superstar or held in super-high regard as an actor like Irfan.

I am trying to say the same thing. He was an average performer to get movies but did not have superstar aura around him.
