I feel bad for anyone who receives promise of violence against their lives. Or is put down in any manner for their views or status. But, I also think social media is loosing battle, when it comes to trolling that is simply targeted at a person for reasons they can’t control, like in this case, because they exist in privilege.

What can shaheen or anyone in her place possibly do? She,herself, is approaching this situation from not repressing her FOE, and not wanting to be dictated, and be sub-missed into limiting comments etc.

She is essentially claiming that she will use legal recourse, including tracing IP address, but doing that doesn’t reveal identity of the person threatening/abusing her. Unfortunately, that likely is just bravado, because she is ( and I get it) fed up.

This likely will not even stop the hate comments, cuz people who attack in anonymity don’t care. India, I don’t think has tough laws against trolls, cyberbullying.

In all likelihood, maybe easiest recourse is to stay away.

Arrey Yaar, didn't you know that if it isn't illegal, it's considered "freedom of speech". Some people forget that r*ape and death threats fall under cyber harassment. Harassment is not a completely separate issue or topic like they are trying to justify here.

I've been saying this for a month. They feel they're entitled to Karan's money and their loser faves are the ones that should be getting Karan's movies. There is nothing more to it than envy that Alia gets what they want their faves to get.

If you don't like someone, ignore them and stop obsessing about their movies and get on with your life.

Rape threats are definitely harassment and abuse, they are made to instill fear into the woman that she is supposed to expect this in her life and it can really scare her and affect her mentally.

Anyways, the forum laughed at Hrithik for his father defended him.
