Kyunki CVs ko bhi samajh nahi aaya ki Maya ka kya kare...they wanted her to be outright dark yet with humanity...so they were caught in their own character sketch...hence inconsistencies with supporting characters as well

wahin naa, in ek hasina thi, shaurya and his friends had raped paayal, so dr. dayal thakur had supported durga(who he had saved from dieing), and she was always to bring them to the court.

in paanch, roshni's sister was like a sister to nikhil and he loved roshni, so that why he supported her. we see no motive for rajiv here, except that a girl was forced to abort and left to die, that too its what maya tells him, and he hasnt seen it, since we know now that it was vikrom boi who saved her.
