This is an interesting question. Rajeev had a strong reason to be part of Maya's plan. He continued to be part of the plan, even after knowing she had murdered Rishi, which means he definitely had a really strong reason. Then he also became attached to Maya, so much that he considered him her brother and even risked his life for her. So, if his attachment for her kept increasing, he could betray her revenge plan but for her sake (not betray her), to save her, which might have really angered Maya.

and apni maya hai hi paidaishi gadhi, she would add him to the hitlist, but it would be like he was shadowing her even if he didnt approve of her plans and would save her when sudhir/aamir attack her and before that maya must have almost killed him once.
