Aa Gaya! Aa Gaya! Bakbak Karne Main Aa Agaya!!! 😎 😎 😎

So finally I am writing my review on my Marathon.

Let’s start with JNPPK. I chose this first because the positive points are much higher than the negative points and hopefully we’ll have some interesting discussion on different topics as there was more. 😊

So once again, a show which I didn’t consider to be that great; in fact, ignored for its probable sad ending, gave me a great time as an audience. 👏 👏 👏 I loved how they dealt with the entire storyline. They started showing the implication of caste system into politics too and I would say they did a good job. I guess the shift towards romance took place when the initial TRP wasn’t much and thankfully it wasn’t sudden or looked forced as in the pilot episode itself they revealed the leads had been dating for quite some time. So I enjoyed the lovers’ tale too. Although half the time they were thrashed.

Betiyan Kyun Peeche Reh Jaaye? - I guess the makers were really moved by this slogan. Because even though I can’t remotely compare Suman’s plight with Badal’s frequent Dhulai Session 😈, the girl was literally slapped left, right and center by her parents, goons and unfortunately Badal too at the very end. A particular incident which I really wish hadn’t taken place. 🤔

I am not mocking the makers for their short journey over 50 episodes. But I am genuinely saying, this is how a show should be made. Probably they had more issues to portray but when I look at the show, it was decent with a proper storyline which ended on a good note. Be it tragedy or comedy, even clichéd, there are plenty of scenes which I can talk about. Whereas the first 50 episodes of Nazar only reminds me of Ved’s and Nikamma Rathods’ Thobre more than the magic created by 3D.

So I guess my point is pretty clear here.

I loved the cast. The leads weren’t extraordinary but they brought out the cuteness needed. Pranali being a debutante did wonderful. 👏 👏 👏 Sure, there were scenes where I felt she was going overboard or probably that’s how they wanted her but she owned the last 20 episodes. 👏 👏 👏 I don’t know whether I should praise the director or her or both of them as a team because the exhaustion they portrayed in the last couple of episodes - it was brilliant. And it was equally heartbreaking to see such a strong, lively girl finally accepting her defeat just to save her love. 😭 😭 😭

Then again Kinshuk did a good job portraying Badal. He gave me serious complex with his hair. 🤔 But as I said while watching IPN that a completely whiter than white character too can bowl you over with its strength and simplicity, Badal’s character was written in the same way. He wasn’t layered, he wasn’t grey, he was Sanskari but he wasn’t a wuss. Plus, I can’t believe I am saying this but Sharafat mein to bhai sahab ne Ansh ko bhi peeche chod dia whereas Suman literally looked like a distant relative of Piya to me. 😉

The supporting cast was great. But I was in awe with the antagonist. 👏 👏 👏 He was brilliant and a very complex character for whom at some particular scenes I felt bad. Again a good point I want to mention is that despite his pitch black characteristics, the writers made sure to give him some human traits where you can actually feel for a father who was devastated by his daughter’s deed.

Coming to my favorite scenes or those that moved me……..

I definitely have to take name of the pilot episode. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Call me a Grinch but I mostly have issues with popular epics/folklores like Laila-Majnu, Heer-Ranjha for their tragic ending.

So when they show such stories being played on an episode, mostly it’s super traumatic for me unless the play turns into something funny. So here it was just that. 😆 😆 😆 The girl being super late and the producer’s frustration was funny. When a protagonist is introduced, people look at him/her. I was rather looking at the FL’s poor poor BFF who almost had a heart attack as the FL was driving the scooty.

🤣 🤣 🤣

Then again the climax scene at the play, Suman lost it when Badal was getting thrashed and started beating all the other crews which was funny as hell. 😆 😆 😆 I can’t forget Badal’s dialogue there - Kya Hua Suman! Dialogues Bhul Gayi Kya? Yes, they turned it into a super dramatic situation like Suman questioning the norms and why lovers should get separated but I can’t forget the look on the entire team’s face including Badal while Suman was actually thrashing them. 🤣 🤣 🤣

The second positive thing about the show was - the girl was genuinely loved by both her uncles and elder aunt. So after a low caste local politician had made a video of her which earned Suman her first THAPPAD from PP , the way her uncle educated her on the family name and the additional pressure and cheered her up - it was really sweet. 😊 😊 😊

Coming to the first tragic sequence that made an impact on me was when PP (Poojan Pandey) 🤪 got to learn about their affair and practically made Badal rub his nose at Suman’s feet. It was even more horrible with everything that was going in the background. Badal’s FB of Suman saying she can’t see anyone thrashing him during the play and Suman’s helplessness that she couldn’t stop her family members at that particular time as they would kill him instead, it was heartbreaking. 🥺 🥺 🥺 The good thing was, after the Tamasha was over, the girl finally mustered up the courage and announced in front of the family that she loved him.

Then the second sequence which affected me in a horribly wrong way was when they eloped and PP’s goons were thrashing Badal and tried to molest Suman.

I seriously don’t know what’s wrong with Zee and why are they obsessed with this Cheerharan Thing so much. They showed a very short sequence in Bhootu too which was criticized by us in a website. But coming to this, the scene was realistic but it was the brutality that made me nauseous. 🥺 🥺 🥺

More importantly, when you see someone powerful falling from his/her grace, it’s even more shattering.

The girl who slapped a goon for holding her pallu and talking absolutely trash about her, when the same girl realized her father’s position wouldn’t save her in that situation and when she was getting slapped and said Mujhe Maaf Kar Do! as a girl my self my eyes shut automatically and I wanted to scream. I personally don’t have issue with her begging because when you are surrounded by a mob of goons and know they are gonna molest you and kill you, you wouldn’t hesitate to rub your nose in front of them to get saved. But when you think about the helplessness of women and how at the end of the day, they are not safe anywhere - it rips your heart out. 🥺 🥺 🥺 I think I should say thanks to the PH that at least they didn’t show the entire thing yet, it was painfully lengthy and disgusting. 🥺 🥺 🥺

Badal saving her at the nick of the time was typical drama but I was happy with the way he punished one particular goon. If only everyone was punished in such way, women wouldn’t be treated as commodities like this. 😭 😭 😭

I liked one scene post the molestation drama where for the first time Suman realized how her crazy decisions was the reason that they landed up in such huge trouble. She actually said out loud that she could have gotten raped and Badal might have died if only they hadn't eloped. I guess that’s the point from where she didn’t look like a spoiled brat anymore. 😊

Coming to another emotional scene, it was when PP found her lying beside Badal but couldn’t shoot her. His realization that he fell weak in front of his own daughter and the way he almost broke down in front of his wife Rukmani - for a second I genuinely felt bad for PP there. 😭 Kudos to the actor for bringing out the turmoil. 👏 👏 👏 Also, the writer deserves huge appreciation for the way he has written PP. 👏 👏 👏

Then again when they brought Suman back. The argument between her and PP was typical drama with bhari bharkam dialogues but it was amazing. When PP made Lakhan (Uncle) tie her hands and poured water to wipe off her sindoor, the way the girl was screaming, any normal person’s heart would break.

🥺 🥺 🥺

This was the time when I got reminded of Madhura that you can’t teach an actor everything. Sometimes one single scene is enough to portray a plethora of emotion.

The girl was arguing with PP till the last moment but when PP made Rukmani to wipe off the last trace of sindoor and her voice choked and she requested - Bas Karo Maa!!! I lost it there. 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

The continuation of the incidentwas even more horrible as PP was setting Badal on fire, alive and Suman was begging in front of PP and struck a deal that she would marry a boy per his choice but Badal and his family would be spared. I absolutely loved Pranali for her portrayal in that particular scene. 👏 👏 👏

And I loved it when Badal said - Humse Bina Pooche Tumne Humara Zindegi Ka Faisla Kaise Le Liya? I loved the guy for openly questioning him and felt bad for the girl when she said, they lost and asked him to fulfill his parents’ wishes; as their love story would be fulfilled with his prosperity and not his death. 😭

Then continued the saga of Female Devdas.

It was painful, tiring but at the same time I appreciate Pranali’s acting. 👍🏼 Not to mention the Noble Idiocy stunt she pulled when her fiance offered Badal a deal to leave her and accept his help for his father’s operation. So when our ML refused it and his mother asked for it, our FL chose the typical FL path and made the entire thing even more unbearable.

So the next scene which I liked, mostly for the acting was when her aunt accidentally caused Suman’s hand to bleed and she just sat silently like nothing mattered.

Last time I particularly talked about makeup artists while watching M2. This time I am praising the makeup artist of this show because in the last few episodes the way they made Suman pale, exhausted - it was on point. 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼

Anyway, she was sitting like a zombie and then when her mother asked she said she was in a lot of pain. However, it felt like Badal was in pain and she got hyper for a moment and then composed herself believing her father would never lie to her and would keep his end of the bargain. So PP did that. He didn’t directly harm Badal but kidnapped his entire family and when he barged in, PP didn’t hesitate to falsely swear on Suman and the poor girl believed her father and got slapped by Badal.

Logically I couldn’t blame Badal but it was heartbreaking to watch Suman in the plight. Specially when he blamed her for being PP's daughter and heartless, the way she was looking at him...... 😭 😭 😭

Thankfully this incident finally urged Suman’s mom to take matters in her hand and she helped Badal to find his family and both sides of the families told him about the deal and everything and ultimately they got married. 😃 😃 😃

Loved it when Badal came to meet Suman and she was laughing after ages only to get sad immediately and then again acted in front of him that everything was finished between them. Transition was done beautifully. 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼

I loved the wedding sequence too. It was simple but the trio (Suman, her mom and her aunt) was really tensed thinking whether the groom swapping had taken place or not and the entire time they were completely udaas. In fact, Suman actually stopped in her step during pheras when Badal held her hand and completed it. At the end when she realized she got married to Badal, the smile she had!!!

Cool... 😎

Waise bhi, I like listening to positive points more than the negative.

Now, this sounds good... The fact that they took up the caste system and it's implications in politics is a commendable thing in itself.

Another good thing that the romance did not look forced as they already made it clear that the leads had been dating for some time... Forced romance is another thing that I dislike.

Of course, we can't compare Suman's plight with Badal's dhulai session.

But yes, I do feel bad for her... After all, girls are frequently shown getting slapped left, right and centre... And yes, even I do think that the last incident should not have taken place...

I agree... I have not watched the show but going by your review, I too feel that this is the way how a show should be made.

I do agree that they might have had more issues to portray but I guess they couldn't because it went off air due to low trp's.

I agree, the first 50 episodes of Nazar had an overdose of Ved and her entire nikammi family...

So I guess my point is pretty clear here.

It indeed is...

Now, coming to the acting part...

Well, since I haven't watched, I will go by your judgement here... 🤗

But, why did the ML give you a serious complex with his hair?? 🤓

Me too! i got so annoyed with BB that it'll take me some time to convince myself to talk about it.

Definitely!

Well, the situation was such that I can't even blame the boy. still, it was painful to watch her like that. 😭 😭 😭

You trust me too much! 😆

But, why did the ML give you a serious complex with his hair?? 🤓

His hair length is the same as mine but he has silky hair and I am fasofied with my unnecessary curls. 🥺
