By the way there Karna's son Vrishsen was a friend of Samb (and thereby of Lakshmana) and Samb declared that he would lead the Narayani Sena and will support Kauravas hence Vrishsen joined the Kaurav support not because his father and the entire family+army was supporting Kauravas

I didn't see his hitting scene but his death scene was way too melodramatic. Dury Shakuni and all the Pandavas+Krishna Kunti and Draupadi crying for him.

Arjun repenting the great sin he did.

Bheem apologizing for all the insults

Kunti begging for forgiveness

Karna says that he always felt that Dury was better for the throne and in every next life he would support Dury

Dury rant was completely OTT. He literally begged everyone from Krishna to Draupadi and each of the Pandavas to get Karna back. Best was he asked Draupadi if her hair was still unclean? If she needed more blood to clean then she might ask Bheem to kill him and get the blood from his body for the purpose in lieu of Karna's life

And obviously Parashuram ji's guest appearance right in the middle of Kurukshetra to declare Karna as Mrityunjay, and to declare that his duty on earth was over after having taught Karna.

I don't know if it was meant to be emotional but I was laughing non stop at it

If we remove divinity then he was certainly not born with it thankfully so else just imagine the condition of Kunti during childbirth, I think he somehow got an armour of much better quality which couldn't be pierced through. Killing him with that armour would have been nearly impossible

Just asking because while my short stint in South India I found people more religious and more devoted to so called Aryan Gods? I visited a temple of Durga which they said was the spot where She killed Mahishasur. Pandavas are well respected there so is Ram, and Ravan might be respected but not at par with Ram(people after Ramjanambhoomi Verdict were claiming here that Ram isn't even known in South India) but I might be wrong since I visited only big cities and not villages

No, I don't find it offensive.

Not so much Aryan hatred as North Indian hatred in my opinion. Yes, there have been essays about Aryan invasion, but at the core of it is resentment of people from the north.

Reasons in my opinion:

1. We get lumped together as south Indians or worse Madrasis. There are 5 states in south India apart from union territories with at least 6 languages that I know of. It is offensive. Also offensive is Bollywood's portrayal of the south. Now, this last part has been changing.

2. The language imposition. Most southies are well aware that when India was formed, and education system planned, the idea was to ensure southern languages got as much importance. Most south states teach Hindi in addition to English and mother tongue. Most of the Hindi belt reneged on the agreement. In addition, there are moves to make medium of communication for official purposes Hindi. Plus, the push for Hindi to be made mandatory for civil services exam which will definitely leave south Indians at a disadvantage because no matter how we try, it's not our native language. Not to be forgotten is the fact that Tamil is actually older than Sanskrit from which Hindi was derived.

3. The people moving in. Part of this is territorialism. But the new migrants don't make an effort to fit in. I'll give you an example. The Gujarati community in Kerala opened a branch of a famous chain restaurant called Appito.

Problem is "appito" in local language means "did you poop?" The owners were surprised no one was coming in. It took Shashi Tharoor to post on FB, asking them if it never occured to them to hire a local liaison who would definitely have told them the name wouldn't work.

As far as gods and stories are concerned, I've met only a handful who objected. Yes, most do think Shiva was the original south Indian deity with the rest brought in by Aryans. But no one particularly cares. Heck, even the St Mary Church in Vailankanni has more Hindu devotees than Christian. We are an accepting bunch where gods are concerned. The more the merrier.
