Even Shakuni would have increased his skills during this period. And this option could have been given immidiately at Virat war so that Krishna couldn't be called by then

That's actually a good point. We might think fleeing the battle site is some act of cowardice, but that's actually a need to ensure that there is no complete loss.

If major players are alive, then there is a next day battle where you could win
