The moon had generously rained its luminous light all over that night. Bondita sighed as she stood by the window of her room, the same window through which she used to jump off to go to the river once, to meet her Sampoorna Didi, to hide the truth of her wetting the bed. But today as she stood there, so many thoughts filled her mind that she couldnât take a nostalgia trip. After that very much intimate conversation, which would have been highly inappropriate if not for Aniruddh, Bondita had taken a shower and now Aniruddh was in the bathroom. Her brain had been back on track once she was away from the confinements of her husbandâs arms, his proximity.
âSaudamini is getting married Bondita, even if she wasnât I would have never chosen her.â
Bondita analysed that one sentence he said again and again. Did it held a meaning she wanted it to have? Did Aniruddh really felt something for her? At least the half of what she feels for him? The thought of Aniruddh reciprocating her feelings made Bondita sigh at excitement as the butterflies did their work inside her stomach. How come she had gathered so much courage to confess her feelings to him? What was she thinking? And, what was Aniruddh going to do for the next two days? What if he chooses to let her go? Bondita didnât want to answer that question. Was she really going to leave Aniruddh, most importantly, could she? She looked up at the moon, reminiscing the days when she used to look at the moon, burying her head in her motherâs lap â the safest place in the world for her. She had no conflicts, no issues, she wasnât an emotional mess, she just had to eat and ask questions to berate her Mami.
Mami was an abandoned character in Bonditaâs life, along with Mama. The day she learned from her mother about the betrayal theyâd done to an eight year old, drugging her unconscious, sheâd lost all respect for them. She had been in an emotional conflict that day, whether to respect them and keep a cordial relation or to maintain distance from them, and the solution came from the person who always patiently answered her- â respect should be given to those who deserves it, no matter if theyâre younger or elder to you. We can choose not to respect someone who doesnât deserve it, without disrespecting them, we just have to find out the balance.â Aniruddhâs words of wisdom which showed her the right path, as a matter of fact it was Aniruddh, his words, his actions, his advice that helped Bondita float through the sea of life.
Could she really leave him? What would she do without him? She didnât know. But binding him into a relation where he has no happiness, no solace most importantly no love would be the greatest mistake done to him, especially she shouldnât do it, if not for him, she wouldnât have been here today. Was her love so weak that she couldnât sacrifice it for the happiness of the one he loved? Didnât he deserve to live his life? To live his dream? He knew his dream was to change the society but doesnât he have some dreams about his personal life? Was it right to bind him to herself for her happiness? Bondita knew what she had to do and she knew, sheâd loved him enough, to let him go.
âChaand waqai nikal aaya hai dharti par aaj!â
Bonditaâs train of thoughts was broken as a sound echoed in the spacious room. Bondita, who was standing on the right of the window, turned to see the source of that voice, only to see Aniruddh, in his night suit with check prints, fresh out of the shower with his midnight black hair wet, genuinely smiling at her.
Aniruddh took baby steps towards her not breaking his scrutiny. Bondita felt breathless at his intense gaze and couldnât hold it any long, because of why she broke the eye lock to gaze at the sky. Aniruddh couldnât help but adore the lady whose back faced him, her dark profuse tresses covering her back, those curls of hers on which he could give away his hand to get lost, to caress.
âSahi kaha aap ne, chaand ka noor kuch alag hi hai aaj.â Bondita said, looking up at the moon. Aniruddh, stopped behind her as she said it he looked at her, giggling silently and took her hands in his, making Bondita flinch at the sudden touch. She turned to look at him, his scrutiny was intact. Bondita wore a typical red and white Bengali saree, her hair unbound; her forehead adorned by the sindoor once again, wore by her. He took her hands towards the direction of the moon, and both the couples looked at it, their hands extended towards it.
âMe uss chaand ki baat nahi kar raha hu Bondita.â Aniruddh whispered, subtly burying his face into her unbound glossy locks. Bondita took a sharp breath before asking; âMatlab?â. It was almost a whisper, but managed to reach till Aniruddhâs ears and his hands guided Bonditaâs, again. It found its destination when her hand touched Bonditaâs collarbones, to stop there, with Aniruddhâs hand on hers. Aniruddh leaned to pull back her hair using his face and pressed it to her cheeks as he mumbled in a husky way; âMe apni chaand ki baat kar raha tha.â
Bondita furrowed her eyebrows, again disbelieving the obvious hints her husband is dropping. There was a comfortable yet awkward silence, as both the individuals looked up into the luminous full moon, as full as their hearts were in each otherâs love, standing by the window in each otherâs arms.
âBarrister Babu...â A knock made them both to break off and they turned to find Bihari standing at the doorstep, his hand on the door indicating and impending knock. Aniruddh nodded, asking him to speak.
Bihari spoke up; âBhaumik Babu aur unki beti aaye hai. Bade malik aap dono ko neeche bula rahe hai.â Aniruddh and Bondita shared a glance, Bonditaâs face conveying discomfort at the mention of Saudamini. Aniruddh sent Bihari back as both of them proceeded to downstairs, Bondita adjusting her saree to cover her head.
***
âAa gaye dono. Sabash.â Trilochan said as he saw the couple approaching the group downstairs. Binoy was sitting at his couch, Somnath and Batuk standing in the background, while Trilochan occupied another of the seats, with Mr.Bhaumik and Saudamini seated as guests. Saudaminiâs eyes shot up at Aniruddh at his sight while Aniruddh didnât had any interest whatsoever to look at her. Bondita stood beside him, her eyes at Saudamini.
Trilochan broke the silence as he began; âBhaumik Babu aap hi bataiye, iss agaman ka kaaran.â
Bhaumik nodded and said; âMy daughter Saudaminiâs marriage is fixed, I hope you all know about that. Iâve came here to invite you all to her Gaye Holud Ceremony tomorrow.â
âBut Trilochan Da and I cannot come tomorrow. Iâve a meeting with the British Officials and Da?â Binoy trailed off, letting his elder brother speak.
Trilochan answered, his disinterest visible due to the incident which happened two days ago, it was only Binoy who saw nothing wrong in Saudaminiâs wrongdoings; âYes, I have to go to Balrampur tomorrow, for some work. But anyway, who will accompany Saudamini-â
âWeâll go Baba.â Somnath said, looking at the visibly uncomfortable faces of Aniruddh and Bondita.
Bhaumik added; âI know that, children but I wanted someone to accompany Saudamini, all her childhood she was here and people here, are all the friends she has.â
âPar Gaye Holud ke liye, yahan se...?â Trilochan questioned, indicating at the female scarcity in the house. Aniruddh frowned at this pointless discussion until his face lit up at an idea.
âDonât worry Kaka. Iâve a solution.â Aniruddhâs voice was heard for the first time in the conversation. He looked at Saudamini, who was surprised, also expecting Aniruddh to accompany her. âWhat is it, Anirrudh? If itâs about you-â
âBondita Roy Chowdhary.â
Aniruddh interrupted Saudamini, shocking her. âMy wife will be with you, throughout the ceremony.â Saudamini narrowed her eyes at Aniruddh, questioning his intentions. Aniruddh shot back; âWhat happened? Donât know her?â Aniruddh furrowed his eyebrows and then took Bonditaâs hand in his as he continued; âBondita Aniruddh Roy Chowdhary. My wife?â
Shocked or surprised would be an understatement for what the population in the Roy Chowdhary mansion felt at that time hearing Aniruddhâs statement. The man who refrained from calling Bondita her wife even unknowingly, was now stating her status in front of the whole family? While Trilochan and Batuk were visibly happy, Somnath smiled internally with Bhaumik being clueless, Binoy burning in fury and Saudamini, loathing herself, gritting her teeth remembering all the times when she had hoped binding his name to hers.
Bondita just couldnât decipher what her husband wanted from her, she was just left stupefied by him.
***
âAre you wondering about how Bou-Bondita managed to hear your conversation with Saudamini?â
Aniruddh shot up his head to see his younger brother, Somnath at the doorstep of his study. This was new for Aniruddh. He never knew Somnath knew about Bonditaâs interrogation. Aniruddh looked at him questioningly as he stood up from his seat with Somnath entering the room.
âHow do you know that?â asked Aniruddh.
Somnath had an instant answer; âAapko aap se zyada janta hu me.â
Aniruddh smiled at his brother. Even though their ideals never met, Somnath was that person who knew Aniruddh more than anyone, it was a late realization, but he knew Aniruddh more than Saudamini did. Heck, Saudamini never understood Aniruddh.
âThe day you found those legal papers, I donât know if you noticed when you ran to meet Saudamini, just behind you Bondita followed you. I saw her sobbing back to her bedroom a while after. I guess you may have behaved abnormally with her and running like that... it may have caused her to follow you.â Said Somnath. The flashes of their meeting played in full colour in Aniruddhâs mind, how he ignored her calls in a hurry to meet Saudamini. Aniruddhâs eyes flicked left and right as he gathered the pieces of information, connecting them.
Aniruddh mumbled; âTab hi toh me soch rahi thi yeh itni ajeeb...â he trailed off, fearing revealing so much to his younger brother. Somnath suppressed a smile, as he got a peek into this unlikely husband and wifeâs life. But his face hardened as he braced up to inform something else.
âI would prefer, you talking with Baba.â Somnath said, his eyes piercing through Aniruddhâs.
Aniruddh asked; âWhat? About what?â
âHe has been tormenting Bondita since she came for holidays, I believe he triggered her to follow you that night. Besides, I heard him blaming her for ruining your life and separating you from Saudamini today evening.â Somnath confessed. Aniruddh almost got a heart attack hearing this. He knew his father never liked Bondita, but since she grew up he believed Binoy ignored Bondita. But now he knew, this played a major role in convincing Bondita that she ruined his life.
âBy the way since when did you started being so concerned about her?â Asked Aniruddh, trying to lighten up the mood a bit. Somnath pressed his lips in straight line as he tried to hide the feeling of affection and care that had grown in him for his sister in law. But that was when he realized he could get back at his brother.
Somnath questioned; âBack at you Dada, since when did you start roaming around, telling everyone Bondita is your wife?â
It was Aniruddhâs turn to be flustered. But being the elder brother, he used his right to order Somnath; âItâs late Som, go sleep.â Som nodded, with a smirk as he left the study. Aniruddh smiled to himself, thinking about his wife.

Bondita was spreading the bedspreads to sleep, when he noticed Aniruddhâs bed untouched since yesterday. Her mind flashed to the morning, which she would like to refer as the most blissful mornings she ever had, when she woke up in his arms, with his scent hitting her nose, her so close to him that she could hear his heartbeats. How she wished she could live those moments again!
That was when Aniruddh entered the room. His eyes instinctively went to Bondita who was sitting in her bed, with a book on her hands which she was trying to keep on the side table.
âDid you take your medicines?â asked Aniruddh to which Bondita nodded negatively, upsetting him. âHow can you be so careless Bondita? Just because you feel better, doesnât mean you stop taking your medicines.â Blabbered Aniruddh, walking towards her, to collect her medicines from the side table. As he approached, Bonditaâs eyes followed his form and looked at him longingly as he searched for medicines in the drawer. His hair, fell on his forehead, disheveled, mumbling about the medicines which he couldnât find â he looked adorable. How can she live without him? Her eyes threatened to tear up and only then she shifted her gaze. Aniruddh found the medicines and handed her to them and as she had them, he walked towards his bed, looking at her longingly, and thinking about last night when they slept off in each otherâs arms. His carelessness got the best of him as he stumbled on his cot, earning a painful moan.
âAh!â Aniruddh cried.
Bondita turned to him instinctively asking; âAniruddh Babu aap theek toh hai?â
Aniruddhâs features tightened hearing his salutation but he had another plans in mind. He went on his knees, checking the leg of his cot while Bondita shifted on her bed, curiously looking at what Aniruddh is doing.
âAap kya kar rahe hai?â asked Bondita.
Aniruddh stood up, and ran his fingers through his hair as he contemplated a convincing answer to Bondita.
âBondita, donât you think this cot has turned way too old and weak? I fear if this will break off when I am sleeping, what will happen if my bones break?â Asked Aniruddh, looking everywhere but Bondita.
Bondita was nowhere convinced by that explanation, but she knew what was Aniruddhâs intention, and she chose to play with him; âAccha?â asked Bondita, with a surprised face and Aniruddh nodded with his eyes puppy.
âToh aap, aaj yahan so sakte hai.â Bondita said, caressing her bed, looking down at it. Aniruddh couldnât help but smile seeing his plan work so effectively. Aniruddh thanked Bondita as he dimmed the lights to get into her bed, with her on his side â just the way he wanted. Meanwhile Bondita turned to his opposite side, not being able to suppress the blush her husband gave her, smiling at his cute gesture. Even if he was doing it to torment her, or to use her confession as a weapon like she believed, she was trying to pretend this as the life she wanted where both of them were a happily married couple.
Chapter 9 ends.

How was it? I am writing this story after a long time so forgive me for the flaws guys!đ
Also, I had posted a Rudhita OS some days ago, not many of you might have read it, do check it out:
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/barrister-babu/5162519/rudhita-os-until-we-meet-again
One more chapter is left, maybe two. I don't know. I just know this story will end soon lol.đ
Do Like and COMMENT your views guys, it really helps me improve.
Love,
Sujz!
Loved the update.
Loved Ani being romantic, announcing Bondita as his wife repeatedly.
But why Bondita is still confused? Ani is giving her clear hints.
One thing I could not digest one thing that Som knowing Ani more than himself then why he was taunting Ani for marrying Boni.( Sorry if I hurt you. Did not mean critism)
And one more thing Som really want to join Mini' s gaye holud for Ani-Boni' s uncomfort or something else.đ
Love to have more Rudhita scenes.

@bold-italics You need to understand 10 years have passed. Som was probably a teenager then he's grown up now. Even then, he was angry at Ani because he hurt Mini by doing it. One thing I've noticed is that Som and Mini knew him so much, while Mini refused to understand his actual feelings. But I believe Som can do that in the process of these 10 years, while growing up, which changed his perspectives and also caused him to soften up to Bondita. So in a way, from the initial episodes, I kind of picked it up that Som has a relationship with Ani which is special than his relationship with Batuk or any other member in RC haveli. :) Also, agreeing and understanding is different.
Som understands Ani, knows him but that doesn't mean he has to agree to it.đ
@violet Not really. That angle is not introduced in this story. This story focuses more on the marital relationship of Rudhita and how people around them affect it.
Woohoo wow đł
Kya tha hei ? Suj being itni romantic đ
Loved it â„ïž after every chapter I feel content but this chap is the best âșïž
Romantic Ani and blushing bon

P.s why do have to say it's ending soon? đ
Chahat updateđČ
Hey Sujzđ€ lots of hugs to you for this updateđ€
This is so beautifulđł kitna accha laga itne dino baad chahat update padhkar.
Anirudh calling Bondita his chaand just gave me so many feelsâșïž
But why is Bondita being a Bondu heređ can't she see how much Ani loves herđ maybe she needs a reassurance from him that he actually does and too scared to hope for a life with him.
Anirudh is such a cutie pie here, be it being flirty with Bondu, his concern for her or pretending something is wrong with his bedđ€Ł
Loved Som-Ani talk, never expected them to have such a deep bond, but liked it a lot.
But the lines that stole it for me were:
â respect should be given to those who deserves it, no matter if theyâre younger or elder to you. We can choose not to respect someone who doesnât deserve it, without disrespecting them, we just have to find out the balance.â
These are so well writtenđł and couldn't agree more with them. And mami has indeed been quite cruel.
But left with many questionsđ
Why does Bhaumik want someone to accompany Mini from RC house
Some ulterior motive or just because he thinks Mini is attached with these people? And why is Ani sending Bondita of all people?
Can't wait for the next update, don't mske us wait long
Update soonđ€
And sorry for the late replyđ
I am smiling like a fool after reading this
Such a heartwarming chapter
I love the subtle flirtation and our flirtatious anni babu and the ending *đ€©đ€©
Was waiting for this update since long it exceeded my expectations and some more
