I know I've been quite inactive. Heartily sorry everyone... specially @Krithzz and @Anjali0111

Ch-16

Preet was already sad at the fact that she and Mickey left her alone in the office and then she had to come all alone to home. She was feeling guilty for not consoling Minni at all mess with Khatri . She thought she must still be sad so she along with Mickey landed at her house in the very evening. And to their surprise, Minni was all chirpingly cooking in the kitchen as if celebrating her first victory.

Preet and Mickey sighed in relief as they entered and saw her all care-free.

On the other hand, Minni was cheerfully enjoying her day but a giant of hers needed Neil. She was missing him. All she wanted at that moment was Neil. She wanted to pour her heart down to him. She wanted to tell him about the mess created by Khatri and how she handled it . She wanted to celebrate it with Neil.

"Why so dressed up? Going somewhere?", Asked Minni raising her eyebrows as if questioning their party attires.

"No. Nothing like that.", Lied Mickey.

"Well ...since we are already dressed well .Let's go somewhere out and celebrate. What's say?", Suggested Preet.

"Sounds good", insisted Mickey.

But Minni was no mood to go. She made several excuses to deny but when Preet mentioned that she has already invited Neil and he is on his way, Minni gave in.

Preet helped her to dress decently and soon.Minni took the back seat whereas Preet took her passenger seat and soon Mickey geared the car up.

"Did Neil reached the venue?

"Where are we going?",

"Is he on his way?", Restless Minni kept asking several questions on their way.her eyes didn't wanted to wait anymore to land upon Neil.

Meanwhile , Mickey and Preet kept teasing her trying to spill out everything from her mouth to which Minni just kept responding with a angry glare though her heart kept managing to stay impatient.

Mini kept her head buried out of the window allowing the tender breeze to cuddle her face when suddenly her eyes landed on a place.

"That cliff..." She exclaimed with her eyes widened and fingers pointing towards it.

"Yes

..so what?", Asked Mickey confusedly.

Her eyes then landed on its edge where she encountered a tall man standing facing the stars and his shoulder length wavy hair flowing with the breeze.

"Stop the car. Stop.", Exclaimed Minni.

Mickey quickly pulled the car.

"But why..??" Asked Mickey.

"I don't know", murmured Minni.

"What?",asked Irritated Mickey.

"I need to go..", said Minni still confused what she is saying.

"What ...where...why?, Mickey irritably asked.

Preet held his hand as if insisting him to allow her to go.

"Fine. I'm sending you the location along with the map. We'll be waiting", said Mickey.

Minni just climbed out of the car still confused of her sudden urge.

"What... Why u allowed . The plan was to land directly at Neil's farmhouse . Isn't it", chided irritated Mickey at Preet.

"Yeah...but...there is still some time for the clock to hit a 12", explained Preet.

Mini's mind was blanked out. All her actions were subconscious without thinking about the pros and cons. She was completely flowing with the flow of her heart and life.

She ran towards the cliff remembering it to be the place where she was left unsaid.

Minni finally rushed towards the edge of the cliff gasping and sweating. Her heart was throbbing continuously. All these were completely new to her. She didn't knew anything apart from the fact that she is being driven by her heart.

Minii finally reached the edge of the cliff where her glittery eyes encountered the same man still standing there.

Her eyes widened and her heart which was filled with a longing finally soothed down. It was Neil.

She ran towards him and hugged him tightly.

It felt like as if both don't need any words to speak now. The moment stood still.

They had their hands wrapped around each other and as Minni laid her ear on his chest, she felt as if she can hear 'her' heartbeats.

"Neil... I wanna tell u something", murmured Minni.

"Shhh....lemme live this moment. " Whispered Neil with his eyes closed and hand wrapped around Minni.

The moment was mesmerizing.

"What are u doing here?", Asked Neil suddenly coming out of the trance.

"I should ask the same.", Minni questioned back.

Neil just smiled in return.

Minni turned around down towards the vast dark expanse and then rolled her eyes upwards to the stars.

"Last time...when we came here everything was so beautiful . The stars were falling and now...", Sighed Mini.

"I find it more beautiful now", smirked Neil.

"When we came here the last time...Many things were left unsaid...Neil today I wanna say it all", Minni admitted.

Suddenly a ray of hope pierced Neil's heart. He had been thinking that it's all for the last time and soon Minni will resign and leave him forever and before that he just wanted steal some moments with her. But now Minni statement made her more anxious and filled his heart with optimism. Though he didn't want to build a dream on sand , so suppressing his hopes and desires with the fear that it may breakdown again he raised his eyebrows as if insisting her to say further.

"U know... Today I found something.",said Mini having her face towards the sky

"And what u found?", Asked Neil back having his face towards sky.

"My reason to smile", whispered Minni.

Neil turned his face towards her confusedly as if he didn't get anything.

"You ..Neil... you", said Mini.

"U are my smile.

I could fall into your arms forevermore , if you'd promise to love me like you did always."

Neil couldn't believe his ears. His eyes filled with tears. A moment ago he was mentally preparing himself to absorb a shock and now it turned out to be the greatest pleasure of his life.

"I want to hold you like the sky holds the stars." Said Minni further looking towards the sky and then at him.

Neil couldn't help to smile.

He was on cloud nine.

"I love you Neil. "minni finally confessed.

"I love you more", said Neil and with this he moved a bit closer. Mini gasped and hold her breath anticipating that he don't hear her heart.

Neil's thumb traces gently across her skin and every nerve endings seems to release a shock of its own. Mini shivered and realised that she can feel his warm breath landing on her neck. Neil came closer and cupped her face. He then closed the distance between their lips and as his lips rubs against her a thrill jumped through her and she shuddered.

Neil then presses against her a little harder and Minni could feel the flicker of his tongue against her lips.

"I don't know what to do? Do I open my mouth? Oh gosh! Am I breathing right?", Thought Minni.

Neil pulls back slightly and then kisses her again, in slow motions across her lower lip. This time, Minni opened her mouth and responded with equal vigor. She closed her eyes. The sensation was heightened by the dark and by the silence and by his gentle touch.

It is only when he finishes that she is confused, and she wanted to hug him hard and she also want to cry.

Just then Neil said as if having some telepathic power.

"I wanna hold u too...just like the sky holds the stars" he said.

And soon Minni hugged him tightly.

"Happy birthday love", he whispered to her ears and she made her grip over him tighter.

Soon the reached the farmhouse holding hands. Minni despite several efforts she couldn't help smiling. Whereas Neil was all calm and content though happiness could also be seen on his face.

Mickey and Preet noticed it and sent a silent thank you to the god.

It was all dark . Suddenly lights turned on and everyone exclaimed...

"Happy Birthday"...

Tears rolled down her eyes.

The day she had been cursing because of Khatri turned out to be her best birthday. She found her wings, her love, her friends and a will to hold everything.

It had already turned 12AM. A multistorey ice cake was presented.

Mini was about cut the cake when Neil asked her to make a wish before blowing the candle.

"What else I can desire when I've already got the best present of my life ", she answered.

"Yet", Neil insisted.

"I want you... forever.. and mom dad to accept us.", Minni whispered.

She then blew the candles and with her fingers entwined with Neil's she cut the cake with other hand.

She then gave the first bite to Neil, followed by Preet and Mickey.

"Happy birthday love", Neil wished her again and handed her over a box wrapped with a brown cover.

Though Minni was least interested to move her eyes from Neil to anything else yet failed to suppress the desire to take Neil's gift.

"What was its need Neil?", She said formally.

Neil just smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll soon demand my return gift", he smirked to which Minni just blushed profusely.

Soon a champagne was tosses and party begin at its peak.

Loud music kept pounding hard , this time all in Mini's preferred genre.

Everyone kept tapping their foot with the beats of the music.

Minni had her hand over Neil and their foot tapping in synchronisation with the music.

"Truth or dare?",asked Preet excitedly after a while to everyone "what's say?"

"Good idea", agreed Mickey.

Mini and Neil just gave a meaningful stare to each other and then eventually agreed to play.

Song everyone surrounded a round table with a green empty bottle in the middle and with a tray of alcoholic shots placed on the edge of the table.

"Spin the bottle", exclaimed Mickey in excitement.

Preet spinned the bottle.

Heartbeats stopped.

Bottle kept spinning.

Everyone's eyes was sticked to the bottle with their hearts pounding hard and praying it shouldn't stop at them atleast.

Soon the bottle stopped facing at Preet.

"Truth or dare", Neil asked Preet.

"Truth", said excited Preet.

After thinking a while Mickey uttered.

"Ever laid down?", smirked Mickey sarcastically.

"No", replied Preet as if complaining Mickey to find a tough question.

Minni stayed silent didn't completely getting the scene at once and still wondering what they said. Neil just laughed at her innocence.

"Don't scratch your head hard ", whispered Neil sarcastically to Mini's ear.

"I got it", replied Minni in anger.

"What.?" Asked Neil.

Minni just blushed in return.

"What Minni. What u understood?", Neil asked again devilishly.

"Shut up. You are so wicked.", said Minni trying control her smile.

"Alot", smirked Neil.

Soon the bottle was spinned again and this time it landed on Minni.

"Truth or dare?", Asked Neil.

Fearing those silly questions that was asked from Preet Mini chose for a 'dare'.

"You sure", asked Mickey as if warning her.

"Yes", said Minni trying to act confident.

"Fine. Kiss anyone out here", asked Mickey.

Neil was already blushing at his statement. He gave a 'what's this stupid look to Mickey' whereas Mickey just grinned in return.

"No need of this. I'll take the shots on her behalf", said Neil thinking that it would turn out quite outrageous for Mini.

"That's not the rule Neil", argued Preet.

"And why are you worried. She has been asked to kiss 'anyone' out here"said Preet.

Neil and Preet began arguing over it when all of a sudden Minni says. "Fine! Chillax guys. It's just we four".

Neil's heart started to pound at the fact "is she comfortable with this? Will it not create a mess? Wait will she even choose me...hey ofcourse she will... I'm her boyfriend afterall. ..no one else has right over her"said Neil to himself.

Minni came closer to Neil puts out a hand.

Mickey and Preet's glare reunited at them.

Preet was surprised at Minni's new confidence. Mickey was happy for Neil. They sent a silent prayer to god for Mineil.

Everyone began looking at them intently.

Minni puts out a hand and Neil pulls her closer fairly roughly. Minni drops her head down to brush her lips over his ear.

"Ready for the return gift?", Minni whispers slowly to his ears .

A thrill travels through his spine.

"Sure , I'm honey. "Said Neil with evident naughtiness in his eyes , he ran his hands up her back.

Soon Minni closes her eyes and crashes her lips down unto his. Minni lets out a soft moaning sound.

Finally they broke the kiss down stealing glances from everyone and blushing profusely.

The bottle spinned again and soon it landed on Mickey.

"Truth or dare?", Asked Preet.

"Dare"smirked Mickey.

"Go and say'I love you' to the first person you see out", said Minni.

"Seems like some are taking revenge", commented Mickey and went out to search for his victim.

Preet, mini and Neil kept looking at him from a far place.

Soon Mickey's eyes catched an elderly lady.

Mickey couldn't believe his fate. He thanked god on this small mercy and ran towards the lady.

He talked to her in a friendly way and soon came back after completion of his dare.

The bottle was spinned again and soon it landed on Neil.

"Truth or dare?", Asked Minni.

"Truth" he said.

"Your worst relationship?"asked Preet

Neil suddenly became quite awkward.

Mickey just gave a 'you should not have ask this' look to Preet .

Minni stayed confused all these while. Neil just smiled and took the shot in his hand.

"Cheers!", He said and drank it in one go.

Though the topic was closed but it kept swirling in their minds.

The bottle spinned again and landed on Minni.

This time she chose for truth.

"How many bases?", Asked Mickey sarcastically.

"Sodium hydroxide. What's bases", asked Minni all confused.

Neil smiled whereas Preet and Mickey grinned at her innocence.

"First", answered Neil and soon the game begin again.

Though it kept hanging in Minni mind. Bases.

And soon when Minni got a chance , she finally asked Neil.

"You"ll know it soon", winked Neil.

Soon the party was over and Minni landed back to her house .

Today's incidents kept flashing in mind and thinking about Neil she kept smiling.

She quickly took Neil's gift out and opened.

It was book series covered with transparent sheet. She opened it. "Fifty shades Trilogy", she exclaimed.

She quickly called Neil.

"Liked it", he said before she could even greet him.

"Loved it ", she exclaimed.

"Really" he asked back.

"Ofcourse", she said.

Neil just kept smiling.

Soon after a long conversation, Minni landed on her bed, pulled the side drawer and took out the diary and striked off one more wish from it.

"Read a banned book"

And then slept.

The next morning, someone kept knocking the door hard.

Minni who was still struggling to open to her eyes after almost sleeping in the early morning , came out of the bed sluggishly.

She opened the door and...welcomed a 'shock' of her life.

"Most unpleasant morning",she wondered.
