As many here have liked the movie Bonus, just my 2 cents worth why I feel the movie is appealing:

1) The location is authentic. No "sets" to make it look like a koliwada. It has been fully shot in an actual koliwada. The dust, the grime, the narrow streets with garbage and the matchbox size houses are not "made up".

2) Of the support artistes (except for Mohan Agashe and Jaywant Wadkar who do cameos) none seem to be from the regular industry circuit. They seem to be picked from the same locality. Even the shoe shop owner seems never to have acted in films but they all give such natural performances.

3) The dialogues are simple day to day conversation type, nothing flowery or dramatic but are so effective.

4) Once Gashmeer lands up in the koliwada, he is never presented to look like a typical "hero". His struggles, his false starts, his frustration and later his defeatist attitude are just what an ordinary person in these circumstances would feel. He melts into the koliwada background seamlessly.

5) Gashmeer has perhaps the best physique in the Marathi film industry but they have resisted including fights where he can bash up half a dozen attackers. Just one instance where he slams one of the goons and floors him and then he is shown wincing in pain as he hurts his hand. The shock on the faces of all is so funny.

6) No ultra-glamorous dresses for Pooja. The full movie she is wearing the typical dresses worn in such a locality. No glitzy makeup for her. In some of the scenes (like the Navasaa Ishara song) she positively looks so plain.

7) Though Pooja and Gashmeer are reputed dancers, they have resisted to put in dance numbers (just one Rap number but no dance as such) just to exploit their abilities. As a concession, they have a crackling dance number together AFTER the movie ends (during the credits).

8) The Gashmeer-Pooja romance has deliberately been kept very low key. It is not allowed to overwhelm the main thread of the movie which is about Gashmeer's struggle to adjust to a frugal way of life.

9) Look at the deft way that the ending has been handled. Just a few words between the lead pair (him reassuring her "ekach jagat rahto na" indirectly referring to their earlier "tuzha jag mazha jag"conversation between them) as Gashmeer prepares to leave. Then that last look exchanged between the two is noticed by the grandfather who casually asks him "barobar nyaychay ka" and Gashmeer matter of factly tells him "lavkarach" and drives away with Agashe giving a cryptic smile to Pooja. This is such a poignant ending compared to the regular rona dhona or mitthi marne end scenes.

All credit must go to Saurabh Bhave who is the director/story writer/screenplay writer/dialogue writer.

Just my POV.

Watched Double seat and Mangalashtak Once More..back to back. And fell in love with Mukta Barve once again. काय actress ahe yar. Kaay range ahe...KA..MAA...L..

कमाल❤️

Mukta na pratyek actor बरोबर suit hote. Umesh barobar..Ankush barobar...even upendra limaye suddha. Prasad ani lalit barobar pan smile please madhe.

Ani most important...swapnil barobar tar नेहमीच छान दिसते. स्वप्नील मला तसा अजिबात आवडत नाही(आता याच्या वरून परत कोणी सुरू नका हा करू तो विषय)

पण as a pair म्हणून मुक्ता ani swapnil mala नेहमीच आवडतात.
