Yeah!

You know, it's funny, the other day Madhura and I were talking that now the shows are made in such a way that we can't keep our interest even for 20 episodes. Ironically found one and don't know if they'll ever be back or not.

I wish it was adapted from some novel. I would have definitely read it then to get the idea. 😎

Waise, the book you were talking about, khatam hui hain ya nahi?

It happens at times... Agar koi show, jo achha lagta hai, wo aadhe main hi khatam ho jaata hai to bura to lagta hai...

I can understand...

Waise, the book you were talking about, khatam hui hain ya nahi?

Yup... I have finished reading four of them within two days. 😆

Two of them were Agatha Christie bestselling plays: 'The Mousetrap' and 'And Then There Were None'... Really interesting.

Then, another was by Danielle Steele: 'Matters Of The Heart'. It was given to me by my aunt.

The last that I read was 'The Keepers of the Kaalchakra' by Ashwin Sanghi. It's a really amazing one...

Yeah! 🤔

But anyway, considering the current situation, if the cast and crew remain safe, that would be more than enough. Specially, here three of major characters are aged and a kid is involved. So hope they remain safe. 😊

Great!!!

The Keepers of the Kaalchakra - the name itself is interesting. 😎

I agree... Considering the current situation, it would be more than enough if the cast and crew remain safe. After all, as I always say, safety is the most important thing...

Great!!!

The Keepers of the Kaalchakra - the name itself is interesting. 😎

The book itself is really interesting... I am left amazed by the amount of research the author has done. Plus the intricate details and the relations between science and mythology, the description of Vedas, Ramayan etc... Awesome... 👏 😎

In fact, I have already decided that I am going to buy the remaining books from this series: The Krishna Key, The Vault of Vishnu, Chanakya's Chant etc soon.

Out of these four, the only one that I did not enjoy much was 'Matters Of The Heart'...

So, the series I am talking about, here the FL is a widow. We have two MLs here. One is her dead husband whom the girl keeps imagining whenever she misses him or is in a fix. The second and prominent one is her boss who has fallen in love with him.

In this particular episode, the boss proposes her directly, without any gimmicks or cliched gesture. And the girl makes it clear that she's not interested. So when she returns home, she imagines her dead husband and he is there with a Kafan Ke Kapde and urges the girl to bury him. Because he had died 8 years ago and the girl needs to bury the memories and move on.

So the girl comes and says he was right, she still loves him like a mad person but he wasn't her love. He was her greed that keeps reminding her how she is still young and has options and move forward. She tells the imagination is not Mitul (Her husband) who wanted what's best for her. It was rather the greedy Nazifa (Herself) that wants to be freed of all the misery. So she'll bury it once and for all.

So she starts draping the cloth and the imagination tells you have gone mad. But you can't bury me. I'll keep haunting you!

Now so many times we see MLs draping saree around FL and it's sometimes comic, sometimes romantic. But this scene, my jaw dropped. The BGM and the way the girl was laughing I was like - what the hell man! Ladki satak gayi! 😲 😲 😲

I can't help but share the link. The entire scene was from 13-17 minute.

But the transition in her smile and when she was draping the cloth, it started from 16.00 minute.

Firstly, as I said, plot of show only seemed interesting! Description is something so real and fabulous, rather than the cliche random PDAs we see, now this is some real content and script!!

Saw the 5 minutes, execution was great and the girl was fabulous with transitions, and everything.

Some regional shows have some great content. If I do come across, even I will share!!

Yeah... And my father has already promised me that he would buy me those books... Plus I am so amazed by this Kaalchakra book that I have already read it thrice...

In fact, I got an idea for the next chapter while reading this Kaalchakra book only...

Why?

Ummm... To be honest, I can't exactly pin down the reason why I didn't enjoy it much.

This book was about a lady who falls prey to the charms of a sociopath and then how she escaped from his clutches.

The story was also crisp but there were some parts which made me uncomfortable. Umm... You can say some scenes made me uncomfortable while reading... I hope you understand?

Ahem ahem! Guys! There was something I wanted to discuss with you.

As you guys know, all of us have Tyagofied our Moh-Maya regarding Nazar and I am back to my Bhatakti Aatma self. I’ve gotta say, I am enjoying it as in some of the forums I have seen people talking about various issues and the pandemic and actually discussing everything politely. There’s no fan war and nothing and it’s amazing.

I was bhatkofying in Gudaan Forum and liked how the members were expressing their views about upcoming leap and all but one comment hit me. It was something like there were so many other things they could show like the FL’s problem regarding career and a possessive ML.

Now I am not talking ill about the member. He/She had many valid suggestions and I actually liked those. But the possessive ML thing just struck me.

Why is it so necessary to become POSSESSIVE? Yes, we all tend to become possessive about our family, friends and loved ones but this can’t be a positive indicator, in my opinion. I mean, I feel it’s one of the negative aspects of loving someone extremely which we try to keep in control as our loved ones assure us about their loyalty and we try to overlook the negative aspects.

But it has been going on since forever that POSSESSIVENESS is a strong indicator. Why? I am not discriminating against it based on gender. A person is a person. He/she is not his/her partner’s proud possession in the first place.

Madhura here had shared an amazing interview of Ekta and Gul. And as I was watching it, I felt even they are not wrong in their places because no matter how modern we have become or we perceive about our evolution, certain taboos, certain patriarchic belief are still stuck with us. We do find a certain amount of beauty in sufferings and yearning too and that’s why the story tellers introduce that in their shows. I very much respect their opinion and stand.

But I was thinking, as viewers, we should give them the assurance that even we have modified and they can experiment.

Now, life is not a bed of roses. Married couples face problems be it financial or other things and they learn to tackle it together. Now why not talk about such issues? People evolving with situation. Like Phil and Claire of Modern Family. Now I know it was basically under comedy genre so they never got too serious but they have shown so many phases in their married life and their insecuirity and then their issues as parents.

Why don’t we move to the phase where we can say yes, there is happy ending for everyone and after that, people may struggle but struggle doesn’t necessarily mean you have to split up or become possessive or doubt on the person who has been with you through thick and thin.

I think it’s time we deviate from the concept that pain in love is precious and rather focus on, when you are in love, you and your partner can survive that and come out as better person or you could break apart to find your suitable partner. But multiple marriages and multiple separation to keep showing the yearning – it should change now.

What do you guys think? 😊

Finally got hold of my laptop.

What have you and Nikki kept for discussions, but still am gonna try! Ofc great discussion and your points are bang on.

That's brilliant and a positive change. Hope it continues though.

Negative? I feel it's extremely toxic, but people love seeing that and even doing it in real life. Infact there was one great episodic I saw, where the FL breaks up with her bf, cos he was been extremely possessive, had issues of hanging with her friends, who were guys for studies too, and should just talk and report to him, so there was no breathing space.

Infact I believe in a relationship, there needs to be space and freedom, which I see lacking nowadays. Space gives you time to explore yourself, and give you some time too. Also you can't just give up your friends or personal life totally. Of course, anyways you will do it less, but it needs to be there. But post marriages people totally change, too. So somewhere, I can't totally blame the television, but they need to show something healthy and people need to accept it, unless just bashing. Problem is people can't see others except lead couple, and even a health relationship, people become insecure, like ML or FL with close friends.

Am glad you liked the interview, and you summed up quite well.

Agree, there is so much to show, so many issues and stuff. Plus I would even love to see something on triangles than just ditching them, like the buildup and all is so much and they waste months and then vanish in seconds, they can just give a productive story. Yes, it can be normal too but they have to show extremes and I actually wonder why.

Exactly, exactly!! Also, people can move on!! You can't be stuck, in a phase. Like the way it's showed in show, with huge separation of leads, and leads are kinda just present physically, and reason is happiness or soul is lost. Fine, in a part, it's okay. But does it really mean you stop living and have the right to give multiplied pain to others? Like what's the family's fault or your office colleagues or friends fault that you behave cold with them, is their love for you not pure? Haven't they supported and fought with you when needed? Haven't they been your rock support, say in an office project or some tough phase? Balance is also important, and moving on is needed, ofc sometimes you can't get over a person, and you can stay in memories for a while, but that doesn't mean that you give a whole cold shoulder to your dear ones. Why don't shows ever show the turmoil or pain the family or friends will go through if this happens instead of just showing leads suffering most. Firstly suffering is abstract, they make it definite.

Yes and worst you know is leads will do multiple marriages and separations, and boom, at end they will be together. But the ones who married them or were about to, their investment or turmoil is just thrown out of the window, which is horrible. What was their fault in this nonsense?

I would say, today is one lucky day for me as you don't generally watch random clips.

The girl - she is amazing. 👏 👏 👏 There was another scene where her mother lies to her that she has cancer to bring her home. Despite seeing the worst, she never came back but for her mother she comes back and the crying scene. 🥺 And when the lie is caught soon enough and the mother gets frightened, she just says, I am feeling sorry for you maa! Do whatever you want. My clash with father has nothing to do with you. Just don't lie to me anymore. 🥺

About the show, seriously Madhura! I wish they had uploaded with subtitles because with the realism they have made the show, it's amazing! 👏 👏 👏

The best thing for me has been they have introduced quite some stuff like - the ego clash between the FL and her father which led her to leave her father's house, then when her brother in law tried to molest her but she was saved by her mother in law, sexual-harassment that a beautiful girl faces in work place; specially in the lower posts - all these things have been relevant and portrayed realistically. Even though the duration was short, the impact is real and it's not like I am throwing an issue just like that for TRP. Every single detail is crucial for the overall story.

Another thing I am loving is the minimum amount of actors. So far they have aired 34 episodes and the supporting cast isn't there just in the background. They have separate space and so is with the leads. It's not that you feel the focus has suddenly shifted from one direction to another.

Sorry! I am talking about it nonstop. 😛 It's really amazing. 👏

Sure! I would love to watch some regional clips also. Because in many forums I have read people praising their originality and portrayal. 😊

P.S. What does PDA mean?

So I have a discussion too, for you both. It's long I had one with Nikki!!

Though we have discussed this, why is it so tough to show that females work post marriage? Cos in today's generation, most do it for their career, jobs and even for family and to meet expenses and support.

My issue is, there's nothing wrong in showing they don't do jobs, but then show that way from start. That they are not interested in jobs, and just small things, hobbies, taking care of family and socialising. But they introduce all FLs as ultra ambitious, toppers, having huge dreams, and post marriage all is punctured and only job is to solve family issues, and safety of family, jaise ki terrorists ko contract mila hai, wo family ko pareshan karne ka and only FLs can save them...like Really?!! Or if by mistake, shows show them working, it will be just to show tashan or compete aganst ML, like don't you have any dream and passion for your job?

So let me give an example of Pyaar ka dard as am seeing it, and as I say, why I have issues with P, ofc few scenes of AP and all are great. But, way I love his parents story, cos it seems real, both have their jobs and challenges. Avantika is showed as a proper business woman.

Adi too is showed good in terms of job, how he grew from a trainee to a higher position, and I appreciate it.

Now comes our Pankhuri, who had come to internship in Architecture from Kullu to Mumbai. She had a dream of becoming one of the best designer in India, or Mumbai!

Post marriage, everything is punctured like a balloon! She just becomes a housewife, like did you forget it and starts solving family issues. Now the main issue here is all would have supported if she wanted to do a job and fulfill her dreams, cos all have their careers, and strive for it.

Infact Adi even said once, that he has given her full freedom to do any type of job and start earning. All he expected from start of show was truth, and trust. So AP and his parents were staying seprately cos of some issues, and let's say in their house Trio of villains and others were staying, Adi had asked for her and everyone's good, to not interfere with them as they are bad, which was nothing wrong! But she being mahan, thinks she can solve family issues and make them one, and so without informing Adi, she does a job as a Caretaker there. Matlab the guy gives you freedom and this is the way you misuse, like wow!! So oc when he understands, he blasts her and there's nothing wrong, too. But ofc at end always she is only right, and he has to apologise. Though with some arcs and how his parents explain him, it's fine...but then in his stand he wasn't wrong.

Point is, why can't she be showed to do a job in her stream? If they didn't want, why introduce such nonsense tracks only, that she has big dreams, goals..not just this shows, many shows have this!!

Oh and most stupid thing in shows is, ML will have an issue with a business, and out of blue FL becomes extremely talented and completes the job which is super hit too, like no prior knowledge, but she is super woman! Why would people hire employees only then? Won't they discuss, chalo adhe din your wife completes, adhe din my wife completes...and free of cost too, company will save so many resources too🤣

I believe only show, I can give credit here again surprisingly was of Gul, IB. Bhavya was showed to be ACP, and then post marriage she takes a break for a while and again atleast resumes her job. Ofc Mauli too, who always was showed true to her profession, Mauli will be best and it was showed also beautifully, in her case with medical camps and everything. I guess even Ishita continued her job!
