Just finished Rishi Kapoor's autobiography. What a read. So many anecdotes. Nobody has probably met nearly every legend in Hindi cinema like he has and he's knows them personally. He doesn't spare anyone. There's feuds with his friends Rakesh and Jeetendra, why he didn't like Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh. Neetu's afterword is also incredibly honest. She even says she believes flings have happened (Rishi categorically denies it) but she treated them as momentary trespasses. Also, the whole section about Hindi songs and music directors is incredible. Seriously, I can't recommend the book enough. It's called 'Khullam Khulla'. Wow. I couldn't put it down. Finished in a sitting.
KJO's book is complete shit infront of it. Anyway, onto Dilip Kumar's autobiography.
Autobiographies, esp celeb autobiographies, aren't honest. They are just 5 long interviews.
Why do some pages on YT and insta has the option of translate and others don't.

As with most celeb autobiographies especially those still in the business. I felt this with Karan's. It had nothing substantial. He projected himself as saintly too. Boring. But Rishi's one had a lot. Atleast tons of anecdotes. He makes plenty of backhanded comments on a lot of his contemporaries, speaks at length about his father's affairs but ofcourse denied any of his own. Ranbir wrote the foreword and its all bubblegum.
I think Rishi's one is as close to honest you can get without completely spilling the beans. Most autobiographies i've read this week (more holly and just two Bolly) have this ' I am saint, better than everyone and everyone fcked me over' vibe. He doesn't have that.

Yeah I liked this about his autobiography, he owned up his mistakes, well most of it... in some parts he blamed his colleagues though.
