Chapter 21 – The realisation

Prerna was decorating the house for Diwali when Anurag came to meet her.

Prerna was confused very confused and hurt at the same time. The Person she trusted the most thought she was planning against him that she wanted to hurt his family after all she has done for them. She was lost in thoughts when someone tapped her back and she found Mamooni looking at her. She hugged her tightly.

“Prerna sab theek hain? News dekhne ke baad hi aana chahti thi. Rishab kaisa hain” She hugged her and started crying.

“Rona band karke mujhe batayegi ki kya hua hain. Rishab theek hain na. Dekh meri taraf”

“Who theek hain. Ab theek hain sab.”

“Tu kaise hain? Kya hua. Use apna beta manti iska matlab yeh nahin ki uski har sahi galat baat bhi manti hoon. Agar usne kuch kiya hain to bata mujhe. Apne man ki baat bata sakti hain mujhe”

“MrBajaj aur meri shaadi ek deal thi.”

When Prerna didn’t say anything “kaun tha woh jiske liye tune Rishab se shaadi ki.”

“Pyaar ke bahut sare roop hote hain. Hamari zindagi main bahut sare padhav aate hain jo hume bahut kuch sikhate hain. Tu Anurag ke liye kya feel karti thi aur Rishab ke liye kya kar rain hain apne dil se pooch.Pooch ki agar aaj Rishab tujhe keh di ki chali jao Anurag ke paas chali jaogi,apni life imagine kar sakti hoon Rishab aur Kukki ke bagair aur Anurag ke saath”

Prerna turned her head away.

“nazrain churane se jawab nahin milega. Apne dil se ye sawal kar aur mujhe bata.Prerna?”

“Nahin nahin reh sakti Rishab ke bagair kukki ki bagari apni life imagine bhi nahin kar sakti main par pyaar itna jaldi kaise badal sakta hain, Kaise kuch hi dino mainkoi insaan jise main nafrat karti thi woh."

“Abscience to hain nahin ki to formula laga le”

And with a new found happiness she hugged Mamooni "Khayal rakhengi nauska"

"Woh mujhe rakhne denge." and they both laughed. Just then Kukki came in.Prerna introduced her and they started playing

Prerna was thinking about her talk when she fell into a deep sleep and saw that they where in a hall, getting ready to sleep. Kukki was resting her head on her lap and looking at the stars and Rishab was trying to get her little Sneha to sleep. Suddenly she opened her eyes and found herself in the hall of her house and that is when it hit her that She was home. "I love you Rishab, I love you, I love you" and she felt happier than she had ever felt in last few months.

Mr Bajaj came home that night and was surprised to find Mamooni there. He hugged her.

“Chinta ho rahin teri. Tu theek hain.”

“Haan”

Mamooni noticed during dinner that he was angry with Prerna for some reason and also that whenever he looked at prerna it was with a longing as if she would be going very soon

“Chal ab main chalti hoon.”

“Main aata hoon saath main”

“Rishi apne aap ko saza dene se pehle ek baar use puch lena ki kya who tujhe saza dena chahti hain. Who kya chahti hain puch lena use uski Khushi kisme hain. Har baar tu decisions le kar us par nahin thop sakta. Har bar teri nahin chal sakti.” And then herexpression turned soft – “Tune galti ki hain par tere saath bhi galat hua tha,apni galti sudharne ke chakar main apni kukki ki aur uski life mat barbaad karna please.” And with that she left.

Chapter22 – The Risk

Rishab mind was going through so many thoughts but he knew the first thing that he needs to do so he went straight to confront Prerna.

“Kukki papa ko mumma se baat karni hain. Aap jake niche tv dekhiye.”

Kukki left from there.

“Mr Bajaj kya hua?”

“Kya kiya aapne aur kyun kiya aapne?”

“Meri samajh nahin aa raha aap kya bol rahin hain. “

“Aap ache tarah se jaanti hain main kya bol raha hoon. Mohini Basu achanak se devi nahin ban sakti”

“Maine wahin kiya joh mujhe karna chahiye tha, jo bahut pehle aapko kar dena chahiye tha lekin aap meri wajah se nahin kar rahin the”

“Mujhe bikh nahin chahiye, zabarzasti ki daya nahin chahiye main handle kar sakta tha, aap kyun involve hui. Kaha tha aapse ki meri problem hain main theek kar lunga aapko involve hone ki zaroorat nahin thi aapko”

“bheekh daya dekha rahin thimain.”

And with that she took out the gift Mr Bajaj had given her and whatever he had bought for Kukki and their unborn child.

“To mujhe bhi bheekh nahin chahiye apne bacho ka apna khayal main rak sakti hoon” and with that she went downstairs. After sometime Prerna came back to the room , and was going to the washroom when Mr bajaj stopped her.

“Prerna, I am sorry. It’s just that. Aapko bhi to nahin karna chahiye tha yeh sab, Main sambhal sakta tha aur aapko unke saath rehna hain…”

Prerna was confused

“Mera matlab hain woh aapki family hain aapko unse ladne ki zaroorat nahin hain aur mere liye to bilkul bhi nahin” .Mr bajaj with great strength hugged her and Prerna was surprised – “Thank you for everything that you did for me today. Aaap jaanti nahin hain aapne aaj mere liye kya kiya hain. Shayad main zindagi bhar. Please yeh gift le lijiye”

“Maine jo kiya apni family ke liye kiya. Aap log bhi meri family hain ab aur maine sirf sahi ko sahi karne ki koshish ki.”

Mr bajaj smiled

“Aaj maaf kar rahin hoon har bar aisa nahin chalega ki aap mujhe daante rahin aur phir aakar sorry bolde, apni maa ke alawa maine yeh hak kisiko nahin diya hain. Baba aur baki sab bhi meri saare baatein chup karke sirf mante hain. To aadat dal lijiye.” and with that she hugged him back. And Mr bajaj was shocked to do anything.

“Thank you for the dress and the earings. Aapko kaise pata chala mujhe who chahiye tha”

To avoid the topic

“Waise aapne aisa kya kiya ki Mohini Basu devi ban gayi aur phir hospitalise ho gayi”

It was day before Diwali Prerna was busy preparing for home but she was not able to concentrate on anything. Why did Mr bajaj behaviour changed suddenly yesterday. She also knew the baby will complicate things and she needs to make a decision but she will figure that our once she has told everything to Rishab.Maybe because he thinks that I still love Anurag and want to go back to him.And then she cursed herself of course that is it, she was the one who kept ranting infront of him that she loved him how is he supposed to know that now things have changed. I would have to tell him but how do I, I mean??

Just then Mr Mehra called and asked her to come to the office as on every Diwali there is a Pooja and gifts are given to the staff Member. Also bring Kukki with her. She said ok. Prerna took immense care to get ready that day. She wore the dress that Mr Bajaj had bought for her and those earings. She had also bought a same coloured dress for Kukki and she looked like princess. They entered bajaj industries.

“Sir hume pooja ke liye chalna chahiye? Mrs Bajaj bhi aa gayi hain”

“Prerna use kyun bolaya apne. Unhe aane ki koi zaroorat nain hain aapne kyun boloya?”

Unknown to him Prerna heard everything while standing outside. Mr Bajaj turned and saw her standing and didn’t like this one bit. She almost looked tearful.

“Hello Mam”

“Hello Mr Mehra. Happy Diwali”

“Happy Diwali to you too Mam. Chale Pooja ke liye sab wait kar rahin hain.”

“Nahin main bas Kukki ko chodne aayi thi. Main nikalti hoon, mujhe maa se milne janatha.”

“Aagayi hain to thodi der ruk jaiye, staff ko acha lagega. Puja ke baad gift deke jayega. Hamesha Maasi deti thi, is saal aap de dijiye please”

They were about to sit for the pooja when Mr bajaj whispered into her ear – “You are looking beautiful” and Prerna smiled to herself.

Pooja started and after Pooja she finished giving gifts to everyone. Once they were done, she saw the staff taking pictures of Kukki and Mr bajaj. Someone asked her to stand beside Mr Bajaj so that he can take a picture of the whole family.Prerna composed herself for the pic but Mr bajaj downplayed it saying that should be enough Kukki is tired.

“Its ok it is just one picture. What say Kukki?” Kukki nodded and they all posed for the photo. Mr Bajaj had placed his hand near Prerna waist making it seem like he was touching her but not really touching her. The photo was taking a lot of time and he was getting irritated when he felt Prerna hand near his and she placed it on her waist and thenentangled her hand with his hugging kukki with the other one.

Once the picture was done Mr bajaj didn’t leave her hand and she waited for sometime when prerna finally said-“Mr bajaj mera haath”

“Ya Sure. Agar aap jana chahti hain to chali jaiye apni maa ke yahan. Main Kukki kolekar ghar chala jaonga.”

“Nahin its fine waise bhi late ho gaya hain.”

After dinner they all went towards home and Kukki was asleep in the car seat.

“Sorry aap apni maa ke ghar nahin ja saki, mujhe nahin pata tha Mehra ne aapko bulaya hain warna main call karke mana kar deta”

“It’s ok”.

They reached home and it was looking beautiful with the decorations that Prerna did.Mr Bajaj took Kukki to her room and Prerna came out of the washroom afterchanging.

“Main aapko hurt nahin karna chahta tha maine socha why aapko unnecesaary burden karo isliye nahin bolaya.”

“Ïts ok apne ghar ke funtions main kaisa burden.”

“GoodNight Mrs Bajaj”

and then went to sofa to sleep. Can this really happen can it be that she loves me and she wants to be with me. Can it be possible and with that Mr Bajaj decided to take that risk. He went into the study took out the pen and paper and wrote a letter to prerna. He added those papers, documents to divorce papers and tookout his mothers ring and placed it in a small box and wrapped it for Prerna.Lets see Bajaj whether you will get profit or loss in this risk. He left it near the bedside of Prerna.

Next morning Prerna woke up in a giffy and ten things were going on together. In the hurry Prerna took only the envelope with divorce papers and left behind mr bajaj gift. Mr bajaj had slept late so he was not able to talk to her.

“prerna kya hua aap kaha ja rahin hain”

“Maa ke yahan maa ki thodi tabiyat theek nahin hain. I should be with her. Aapko kuch kaam tha.”

“Nahin aap jaiye hum baad main baat kar lenge. Kisi cheez ki zaroorat ho to call kar lijiyega”

“Ok”

“Ok”but just as she was about to leave she ran to Mr bajaj and hugged him. Then she ran again but the Raksha sutra got stuck again and they were trying to fix it.Prerna and Mr Bajaj couldn’t help but think that There was a time that they were separated this way but tonight they will come together.
