Mine too! One of my favourites of his is,
"Marne ke waqt bhi mere aankhein khuli rahin
Aadat jo pad gayi thi tere intezaar ki"

Wah, wah! Trust Faiz to pack such powerful emotion into a simple couplet. What a joy it is to make aquaintance with a fellow poetry lover. Speaking of Faiz and intezar, arz hai-
Tum aaye ho na shab-e-intezaar guzri hai,
Talaash mein hai seher, baar baar guzri hai.
And another favorite-
Raat yun dil mein teri khoyi hui yaad aayi,
Jaise veerane mein chupke se bahaar aa jaye,
Jaise sehraon mein haule se chale baad-e-naseem,
Jaise beemar ko bewajah qaraar aa jaye..

Impeccable selection <3
I'm very happy to meet a fellow Faiz fan as well :)
Kar raha tha gham-e-jahaan ka hisaab
Aaj tum yaad behisaab aaye
I think when you start something with my favorite lines ever... you’d find me hooked from the word get go!!
Intriguing start and I can’t wait to read more of this.

Thank you so much. They are my favorite lines too (at least few of my favorites. It's so hard to choose!)

Just something about these lines.. they’re seemingly so simple but then kinda hits you in the gut (ahem.. mending broken heart)
I completely agree. You just can’t choose!!

Absolutely. Here's something again from Faiz's treasures for your heart (from one broken heart to another) -
Maana ke ye sunsaan ghadi,
Saqt badi hai,
Lekin mere dil, ye toh faqat ek ghadi hai
Himmat karo,
Jeene ko abhi umr padi hai....

Thank you so much!! Would an “uff” ever suffice to describe the emotions that these lines evoke? How can something give you so much hope but also tries to make you wary?
Something for you,
dil nā-umīd to nahīñ nākām hī to hai
lambī hai ġham kī shaam magar shaam hī to hai

You have beautifully described the essence of those lines. Also the sher that you have so kindly gifted, happens to be one of those that are closest to my heart. The entire ghazal is so hopeful, yet so heart-breaking!
dast-e-falak meñ gardish-e-taqdīr to nahīñ
dast-e-falak meñ gardish-e-ayyām hī to hai
Pure love! Thank you so much for reminding me of this.

Right! I think it would take a lifetime to dissect just how powerful the ghazal is. When I was at my lowest, chanting shaam hi toh hai over and over again helped.
Here’s another absolute favorite of mine,
aur bhī dukh haiñ zamāne meñ mohabbat ke sivā
rāhateñ aur bhī haiñ vasl kī rāhat ke sivā
Oh it’s absolutely my pleasure! Feels lovely to gush over something beautiful.
