@bold Yeah those comments are like, inbred in all of them. Stereotypical comments will take time to get weeded out, I guess.
But speaking of regressive thoughts, I get so baffled when they don’t call out Shukla for being such a kaamchor. Yesterday’s episode, Shukla was actually accusing and making fun of Rashami for kaamchori and she didn’t have the basic sense to give him a “Look whose talking hypocrite” smackdown.
And I thought, why is that? Does she have those regressive thoughts that cos he’s a guy, he’s not similarly answerable for his laziness?
He's the overlord and they're the vassals. He's supposed to throw his weight around and apparently get all the TRPs from basically an extended 6 month make out session (Yes, yes they're consenting adults. But the viewers are adults too who didn't consent to watch this onscreen for 2 hours everyday) . While the rest are supposed to clean up after him. Nobody calls him out. Infact from what I've read here, even Aarti, Mahira taunt Rashmi about being a kaamchor. I don't get it.
You're right about it taking a lot of time to weed out those stereotypical comments.
Taking about smackdowns one of the reasons I believe Rashmi-Arhaan knew that channel would be targeting them was... Arhaan didn't walk out of the show. If someone had humiliated me that much on National TV, and if it had been done cause my partner was a more popular person than me and hence everybody blamed me .... I'd walk out. But that's again a personal reaction. It just baffled me that despite everything he hasn't given any strong statements regarding the show/channel. So even if you wanna sympathise/empathise with the guy it still feels off and shady to an extent.
