Both of them have had a tough childhood! Their struggles were real some outside and some within. More power to them! I'm sure things will fall into place soon! Cheers

Its a typical Indian parent reaction. Its all about study study study. Sports, cooking type of things are not valued. I remember hearing parents talk about we will make our kid this and that. Only recently the trend has started to favor finding the best fit for the child.

What do you do when your kid wants to be an artist? I had to explain to mine that its not easy making a living doing that. My advice was to not jump into making a decision and look around to see what other options are there. Art didn't have to totally phase out of life but may not be a full time job.

The dad was not completely wrong but he did not handle things right. Maybe the answer was to explore both sides. Let him join a cooking class and also work as an intern at the office.

A beautifully written chapter. This chapter has opened a never ending debate of parents v/s children. Can’t say who is right or who is wrong .

Arnav is now reminiscing his childhood and teen age years. How his life was perfectly mapped by his parents especially his father and he had to toe the line come what May .His aspirations and ambitions were ignored .He wanted to become a chef but his parents had other plans they wanted to take up the mantle of the family business which was not his cup of tea.

In that matter we can say kushi is lucky she had a supportive mother who compelled Alok to let her pursue medicine. But on the contrary the environment in kushi’s house was worse .she had to practically live under a dictator even till date she hesitates to come in front of her father and still she has come a lot stronger mentally than Arnav.

Arnav’s dad Shankar like most parents wanted the best for their kids may be knew his son was too playful and not focused so also the environment at home was such when Arnav was in slight distress his mom and sisters were at his beck and call .Hence he was too strict at home no doubt may be that made him rebellious.. Shankar could have at least given an option to Arnav to pursue his type of career and if he was not successful he could have joined the family business.

Now when he is repenting over his child’s abortion he is recollecting his childhood and repenting how life has been cruel to him. He wished he could have had a say in many matters .Just like how his father did not give a heed to his choices in the same way Myra without consulting him underwent an abortion .

I agree he does not know about what khushi went through in life and i wonder if he genuinely cares for khushi how much does he feel for khushi ? Because i started feeling he cares and maybe understands khushi to an extent and will be there for her but here he is blaming her for not protesting enough infront of her dad & considers her an equal culprit in their situation .. so i want to know what does he actually feel for khushi ..

& what is he thinking right now .. when his namesake of a wife leaves the room does he feel like going behid her or will he feel like talkig to her tomorrow ? Or it wont be necessary for him ?

About his flashback .. i dont feel arnav s dad was cruel / harsh as khushi s was ... infact arnav s dad was genuinely concerned for him and was thinking and doing everything possible for his kids best interest .. (atleast he felt so ) but yes i feel for arnav too ..he had to go through alot .. there was a whole year for board exams and his dad should have put a hand lovingly on his head .. took care of him when he had a fractured limb instead of sending him away .. & arnav s dad was wrong to dictate his children life instead he should have made his children do what they wanted .. & be there when they needed him or guided them enough to prevent them from any harm ..

Arnav’s dad is the typical dad who wants best for the kids & he thinks he knows better . I understand not all situations like these are alike or correct but in this case ,,, may be his dad does know better... Look at where Arnav is with the only decision he made on his own - Myra .... he seems to need advice and direction . No wonder his sisters mollycoddle him and he is clueless to generally most things. He’s had a secured controlled childhood and now he is lost .

To me it looks like Myra’s Arnav or later Khushi’s Arnav or Lavanya’s brother Arnav ....doesn’t matter .. the wiring , the mindset , the disposition and the basic nature remains same...

Also , if what he faced as a child made him this way , then How will he will heal from this , understand, care for and actually get to know khushi or someone else in the future ? Would he look beyond himself and his plight at all . Agreed he’s miserable right now but even after getting out of it , how much of himself will he allow to get to experience a relationship again ? To feel again ? To love again ? To trust again ?
these r the things I can’t wsit to see . I would love to know Arnav’s POV ...

Love can happen again but his love for Myra seemed beyond and above all that even if they were almost broken up before his wedding . The fact that he still went to see her after the phone call and the way he’s mourning the breakup speaks volumes of what she meant to him . Also , Wonder what he would have done had khushi demanded her role as his wife rt away and he doesn’t know the baggage she carries .

Wonderful update . Can’t wsit to see Arnav Myra equation . Somehow I feel sorry for all three equally right now . Arnav for loosing the love of his life and his baby .... Khushi for being stuck in a situation which is not fair for her .... Myra for loosing her lover and her baby .

Its time both of them open up themselves to each other , when they get to know about each others childhood it would help them find their lost souls and interest.

These two are opposites and with time they would surely attract.
