Karan Johar : K3G is the biggest slap on my face

Karan on India Today, "I made the same film as 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', that's what 'K3G' was," said the director, adding: "I took the storyline of 'Kabhi Kabhie' and the family values of 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!' and made this mush of a film."

"'K3G' is the single biggest slap in my face and my biggest reality check," he said.

It was enjoyable but the emotions were a bit artificial and the storyline wafer thin. The film in lacked in those areas maybe cause it had 6 stars in it.

Kareena Kapoor never looked better tho

I don't know what he's trying to prove, I mean he is making/directing films like SOTY in recent times, so..

But I'd say KKKG is the only film from him that I really enjoyed watching.

Karan loves ADHM. Says it's the closest to his heart.

Is he trying to please the so-called young, GenZ people who find his earlier films cheesy, OTT/dramatic?😵 🤔

Obviously his earlier films are cheesy & a bit OTT...... when looked from TODAY's eyes.🤓

BUT I am sorry as a GenY 90s kid, K3G is still one of my guilty pleasures.😆

I still remember the rage and madness around the film back in 2001. Back then, nobody was obsessed with "realistic" films. The film just had too much buzz around it.

-- Incredible trailers (those big, lavish sets in the trailer left people in awww)

I am sorry Karan, you have several other films to be embarrassed about.😛

He actually thinks Soty and ADHM are better films than k3g ?🤔
