Chapter 75

It was early next morning when khushi was already downstairs making tea for everyone. Akash was already up and sitting on the sofa watching something on hisphone. Arnav came downstairs and saw akash and khushi. Akash smiled and was about to saw good morning. Aranv asked him to stay quiet. He slowly walked upto khushi. Khushi was busy making the tea. He turned around to akash. Akash was looking at him and smiling. Aranv raised his eyebrow and told him to turn around. Akash smiled and turned his head the other way. Aranv stood behind khushi and held onto her waist from the back. He gently leaned in and placed a tender kiss on khushis cheek. She took a deep breath and her eyes were left wide open. In a quiet and husky voice arnav whispered to her.

Arnav: good morning. Sleep well?

Khushi licked her lips and sucked them in.

Arnav: wont you wish me good morning.

She cleared her throat and sniffed her nose.

Khushi: good morning.

Arnav: bas.. That is it.

Khushi: yes.. .kyon, aur kya hai?

Shes tarted to giggle. He chuckled.

Arnav: fine, be like that. Remind me about this when we return to toronto.

Akash: If you two are done wishing each other good morning, then may i please turn my head around and ask for a cup of chai.

Khushi and Aranv both started to laugh. Arnav walked up to akash from the back and smacked his head.

Arnav: yes, you may now have your chai.

Akash did a big sigh of relief. He turned around and smiled at them.

They heard Payal and anjali coming down the stairs.

Khushi served chai to everyone, and they all sat down at the table. Khushi and Aranv sat beside each other. Khushi kept her gaze down. Anajli kept on looking at them and hinting to akash and payal to also look. Akash told her not to bother them and to let them drink their chai in peace, but anjali kept on smiling while looking their way. Arnav cleared his throat. He kept his left hand on the cup and took his right hand down under the table. Luckily no one else was sitting on their side. He opened his hand hinting to khushi to hold it as well. Khushi sniffed her nose very hard and cleared her throat, hinting him no. Arnav had a straight face and raised his eyebrows. Why wasnt khushi holding his hand under the table. He knew she wouldnt hold it on top, so why not under? He sighed. She held her chai cup with both hands and kept looking at it.

Akash noticed arnav and khushi. He also remembered them coming in last night. And knew that something happened, phir the BUG bite. This was his chance to bother them.

Akash: desi girl, tell me something.

Khushi looked up at him and smiled.

Akash: Do you see bhais face in that cup of tea. I mean, you are looking at it with such love and affection. I thought maybe bhais reflection was in there or something.

Anjaliand everyone started to laugh. Khushi looked at akash and gave him a stern look. Arnav just couldnt stop laughing at akashs comments. He started to really enjoy being teased by khushis name and hearing khushi being teased by his name.

She shook her head and looked down again.

Arnav messaged akash, "tell her to stop being so shy around me!"

Akash messaged back, "shy?? I think she has a BUG bite to say otherwise! :D, and the kiss and dont tell thing. Come on bhai. "

Aranv messaged back: The kiss and tell was a joke. You know her. Come on, i tell her, she wont listen, i need you guys to tell her.

Akash nodded his head and cleared his throat. He messaged khushi. He knew she wouldnt want to talk about this infront of everyone else.

Akash: Khushi, mind if i ask you something. No jokes, on a more serious note. I even called you khushi, not desi girl.

Khushi looked up at him with a raised eyebrow and sighed. Akash messaged again.

Akash: Why are you so shy around bhai all the time. I mean, you are both engaged, you are both getting married, and we are the family here. No adults, no nothing.

Khushi waited a minute. Then she started to reply.

Khushi:There are many reasons for why i am like this. Sometimes it may be shyness, sometimes it may not. Its just another way of showing respect to someone you actually respect as well. And sometimes, it may also be to help control ones emotions. :P

She smiled and sent him the text. Akash was impressed. He immediatly forwarded the message to Aranv. Arnav raised his eyebrows. He was very impressed with how khushi answered. He never thought of it that way. He always thought that she was just shy. But to show it as a means of respect and a means of controlling their own emotions, and not getting carried away. Arnav messaged akash back.

Arnav: I got the beauty with the brains.

Akash sent a screen shot of this message to khushi. Her eyes were left wide open. She closed her mouth with her fist and started to cough.

Arnav looked over his shoulder and saw her phone, then the picture of the screenshot. HE looked at akash and chuckled.

Anajli and Payal both received phone calls from their moms and went to the other room to walk to them.

Akash: you two are sooooo cute. Adorable. Cutie Patootie..

Arnav and khushi started to laugh.

Khushi: Shut up angraiz.

Arnav: no point Khushi, he is the complete opposite.

Akash: hey, just because you two are the pehlay pehlay app types, doesn't mean I have to be as well. When it is my turn, man, I will not care about anyone else around me. Even Mom and dad. I wouldn't hide to share a cup of tea with her.

they all laughed at akashs comments. Khushi just shook her head. sighed and then after a moment tried to explain something to akash.

Khushi: true, that I am sure we can all agree with. but, that all being said. We still have some cultural value right. I am not saying that you are wrong, or that we are wrong. Everyone has their own thing. Everyone is different. you both brother grew up in the same house, same values, same culture, same parents and everything. But you are both very different. Personally, I would rather stick with the traditional cultural values. They were made for a reason.

akash: yes. to promote celibacy.

Arnav started to laugh, he honestly felt like that sometimes. Khushi just shook her head and raised her eyebrows.

Khushi: no, akash. that is not it. sometimes, its this distance that is needed. And especially infront of others. Trust me, you should try it. it will help you control your emotions. haha. Plus, some moments are meant to be only for or between two people. Not a public display. it is not necessary that everyone or anyone should know when two people are spending time together.

Arnav understood what she was saying. he was amazed by the amount of maturity that Khushi sometimes showed. Or the reasonings that she would have for doing something or not doing something.

Akash: I agree with you, but sometimes, just saying. I don't know if bhai will agree with me or not, sometimes you need to be able to own up to your relationships.

Khushi: It is not about owning up to your relationships akash, its about respecting them.

I am not saying that your approach it wrong. I am just saying that different people or couples have different ways or respecting their relationships, hence show is differently.

Akash was left in thought. Arnav smiled while he looked at Khushi.

Arnav: plus it adds a bit of mystery as well. Hiding around, hahaha.

Khushi smiled, licked her lips and looked down.

Akash: no way bhai, you are the last person who should say that ok. you are open with me in wanting to spend time alone with Khushi, and now with payal as well. so, no way bhai.

Khushi started to laugh.

Khushi: he has a point. Well don't angraiz!

Arnav: But, that all being said, you are different akash. I, I mean, we are not this way infront of Anjali or payal.

Akash started to wipe a fake tear from his eyes, gesturing to them as an appreciation for them being like this only with him. They all laughed and continued their chai.

anajli and payal returned to the kitchen.

Anjali: Bhai when do we have to leave? Mom called and was asking.

Bhai: Whenever. Doesnt matter. I just have to load the cars.

Payal: Amma also called, she asked us to come by 12. That means we need to leave soon. If that is ok with you.

Arnav looked at Payal, smiled and nodded his head.

ArnaV: Sali is ahdhi ghar wali. Right. Whatever you say Payal.

Everyone started to laugh. They all went upstairs to get their bags ready. Aranv messaged Akash.

Arnav: Take payal and anjali into your car.

Anjali: khushi, i have to show you this mountain view when we are driving back. Trust me, it is soo nice, you will love it.

Aranv became annoyed. Why doesnt his own sister, who managed to figure out that arnav and khushi had feelings for each other, not leave them alone. Khushi smiled at Anjali and politely nodded her head.

He messaged khushi,

Arnavs message: say no. Lets go alone na. Please!

Khushi started cough.

Khushi: I cant say not to her. Come on.

Arnavs made an annoyed face. He got up and went upstairs to get his bags ready.

Everyone else finished their tea and followed to do the same. Arnav and Akash brought their bags down and were looking around to make sure that nothing was left. Arnav, went up to akash and told him to take anjali and payal with them. Akash and arnav were just talking when anjali and payal started to coming down the stairs. Aranv went up and got both of their bags. Payal and anjali stood near akash in the center of the cottage.

Anjali: Bhai, can you load our bags into akashs car. Thank you bhai, you are the best!

Aranv gave a fake smile to his loving sister. He came outside with the bags. He messaged akash to tell khushi to come outside alone with her bags.

Akash: Khushi, i have to get something from upstairs, sorry desi girl. Can you get your bag outside to bhai.

Khushi looked at him with a raised eyebrow. She knew what he was up to.

Anjali: no akash, here khushi, let me help her.

Akash: Anjali, help me. Come now please!

Payal saw this and started to giggle. Akash whispered to anajli to leave arnav and khushi alone for sometime. Anajli raised her eyes brows and understood that khushi and arnav needed some time alone with each other. As khushi went outside, akash, anjali and payal all went to the window to look outside at them. They could see the front of the cars and noticed arnav loading akashs car.

Khushi went outside, the trunk door in arnavs car was open. Arnav stood near akashs car and hinted to khushi to go to his car. She went and started to put her bag in. Arnav walked up to her, and stood at her right. Before she could close the trunk door, he stopped her. He looked up towards the cottage. And started to quietly talk to her, trying not to move his lips as much.

Arnav: all of our loving and dear siblings are staring at us from the window. Daikho.

Khushi looked up at the window. She started to laugh at the sight. All three of their siblings had their eyes glued to the window, staring out at them, huge huge smiles on their faces, and waving to them.

Arnav: lets wave back. Hmmm.

Khushi and arnav both waved back at them. Khushi was about to walk away, when he cleared his throat stopping her. He took a deep breath. She looked down. She started to mumble as well.

Khushi: aranv, everyone is looking. Please, let me go.

Arnav took his left hand and put it on her left waist. He slowly started to walk his fingers around the edge of her kameez. he then pushed his hands under her kameez. Her eyes widened. She took a deep deep breath. Her heart beat increased.

Arnav, while trying to not move his lips, looked at the window, and continued to wave at their siblings with his right hand. Khushi gulped. His left hand was not rubbing the tender skin on her stomach.

Arnav: khushi, if you dont come with me alone right now, then last night i just touched you here, I swear i will kiss it and mark it once we get back to toronto. You have a mark on your neck and shoulder to prove that i can do that. Soch lo!

Khushi looked up with wide eyes towards the window. She clenched her jaw. She didnt know what to do. She was scared, because she knew arnav would do something like that if he had to.

Khushi: arnav, it is not possible.

Arnav: then make it possible.

With that arnav left and went back inside. Khushi was left there thinking and trying to get a hold onto her heart beat. What could she possibly do or say?

Thanks, Akash was always happy for them. Remember the first time, I think it was thread 2. Where he came to arnavs university and found out about arshi. Yeah, he liked Khushi, but he loves his brother more and his brothers happiness more. And he also saw Khushi khush. He is a gem of a person, just a little mischevious at times.

Thanks for the akash angle comments. See, I am not one to say you are wrong or they are wrong. Everyone has a right to their own thing. Just don't force it onto someone else. The thing that I love about arshi in this fictional story is that they understand each other, and each others perspective.

Aranv and Khushi have been together in this story since they were kids. Univeristy for 7-8 months I think. He is a guy, and by nature he has to have a physical demand. He knows his limits, and stops himself. most of the time that is.

Angali, man, I hated that character in the show. really annoying. sweet, but annoying. It was the one that everyone had to rotate all their emotions and actions around. I figured to use it as well. Yeah she is the same age, or a year or two less than Khushi, but still Khushi knows her personality. Too excit4ed, will spill the beans kinda thing.

Sorry I have not updated lately, I have been down with a bad bad flu. Will update later on, once I am able to think and write. Hopefully soon.
