Maya looked at Rudra with tears in her eyes, finally, all her charade was down, all her pretense was down, and what lay was her true self, waiting to be accepted, to be loved.
But Rudra's eyes had rage in them, the soft warmth that could warm up the most shrivelled hearts was long gone.
She pulled his shirt and placed her lips on his, hoping and praying that maybe, maybe like an irritant child who gives up on his demand after being pacified, Rudra's love and lust for her would calm his anger down. But Maya had failed to recognise Rudra, this time, he wasn't his father. For him, love amd lust were secondary, she had harmed what was the core of his being, his family.
He pulled away, tears now polling in his eyes.
"No, you have lost the right, you lost every bloody right you had on me the day you decided to harm my brother"
"I won't hurt him, I promise, don't walk away now, please," she curled her fingers around his shirt, her nails piercing through the fiber.
"What are you going to do, huh? Plan another scheme? I am game! Yeah, let's see how much you have it in you to hurt me! But do not lay your hands on my brother," he pushed her hands away, his eyes softened for a second, but then, he walked off, as Maya fell to her knees, this time, losing the very thing she had never expected to get in this lifetime, true love.
