I think the makers wanted focus on Asim Chabra and Sana in the sacrifice task and her changing equations with both these guys along with the task.

Asim had to sacrifice his fitness belt.Asim's actions can be unpredictable and here he is put in a difficult situation where he has to support Vishal and group who have been with him or Sana whose friends have been troubling him and the thing he had to give up is very important from his health perspective.He made a decision that's right for him and won hands down

This forced Chabra to sacrifice his shoes

Shukla's sacrifice is not the major part of the narrative here.If Shukla had been asked for a bigger sacrifice I'm sure he would have done it but there's no surprise element in that.

At the end it was Asim who won over Sana and it needs to be seen if it leads to change in dynamics not with Shukla but Sana- Asim vs Sana-Paras.
