I don't know how bad Asim's back situation is, but let me just tell you guys this for context (for those of you who are not into fitness):
I was a regional level calisthenics athlete my entire childhood up to 20 years of age. (I am now in my mid-20s) That lifter's belt is no less than medication for people with back issues. Even after over a decade of dedicated fitness routines, I don't even have half of the upper body that Asim has, so I know it must be extremely important for him since its not only a lifestyle/looks thing, but its also a professional necessity for him as a model.
As a guy who's job as nothing to do with fitness, who only works out as a hobby these days, I would NEVER sacrifice my workout belt for anyone as it opens the door for major pain, longterm nagging back issues that get worse with age, and completely takes away the options of certain exercises.
No matter why he did it: care for Sana, repaying the captaincy debt, for sympathy points: WHATEVER IT MAY BE, destroying that belt is a major sacrifice!
Asim clearly doesn't have a bad back that is prone to injury. We've seen him working out tons of times and never seen him wear the belt not even when he's doing bench press. Someone with a damaged back will never do a BP without a belt. Like 90% of us he probably just uses it for dead lifts & squats. Let's not over dramatize it by calling it medication. Some people on here have never stepped into a gym and will misunderstand every word.
Asim can still work out without the belt. Just loses out on 2 major exercises which he can still, just has to decrease the weights.
Regardless, sweet gesture by both Asim & Rashmi.

Asim probably had a slip disc 1-2years back as I have heard.

Asim jaan de dega phir bhi ehsaan faramosh bolenge 😔
Agree. Same here. As a lifter, I wouldn’t sacrifice my belt for anyone either, especially when there are many more weeks left to go.Originally posted by: NepaliArtist

A weightlifting belt should be used judiciously and only when you really need one, and you only really need one whenever there’s a heavy load on your spine. The only exercises where you experience this kind of load are barbell lifts like squats, deadlifts, strict presses, and the various Olympic lifts.
You don’t need to wear a belt when you’re curling or using any machine because there’s no load on the spine when you’re doing those movements (in fact you don’t need to be using a machine, period). You also don’t need to wear a belt when you’re bench-pressing; by lying down on a bench, you’ve taken the load off your spine.
