That is a valid concern. The act is going to do nothing by itself and seems like a totally pointless exercise BJP wants in conjunction with NRC. They don't seem to have the numbers or plan to even back the act and the NRC exercise. It could be a big failure, and BJP should be called out for wasting the nation's time and money. They thought they could subside Assam's xenophobic sentiment and give it a religious twist. It failed big time after failing in the Assam NRC.

But no side/party is innocent here or can claim any moral high ground here. It is a series of wrongs by parties like Congress who signed a flawed Assam Accord and not taking action on illegal immigrants in WB/ Assam for votebanks to now BJP who wants to solve/reverse it with a NRC that will probably not work at all. Lets see what NRC they actually come up with.

Of course they have everything to do with the bill. Every bill concerns every citizen of the country. And people have a right to oppose or accept the bill as per what they need. The North east do not want any illegal immigrants in their land and so they are protesting. Some muslims are concerned over them being excluded for CAB and then NRC and so they are protesting. And others are concerned that this goes against equal rights and the constituition and so they are protesting. Since u want CAB to be implemented u r siding with it maybe tomorrow will get on the roads to protest for it too.

My sympathy is reserved for myself , I don't want any illegal immigrants to be granted citizenship.

There is not a single post condemning or questioning the intentions of rioters but instead you chose to confront those who are in favor of the bill. I don't think you should hide of your stand on the issue. Either you are for it or against it. And so far you are seen on the opposite side. There is no denying that. 😆

There is no post from your side either that condemns or acknowledge the police vandalising public properties or outsiders with criminals records slipping in the crowds and deliberately creating violence or the fact that innocent student have been attacked and beaten up or the continuous sharing of fake news to create more tension. Am I supposed to assume u r in favour of sponsored violence by criminals and deliberate attempts to incite more violence in the country by spreading fake new ? I don't need to hide my side. I m not the one who is ashamed of their opinions that they need a separate id to share their thought process. I m just not accusing people of things based on what they have not mentioned in their posts. That some talent u got there.
