On another note, why do most movies have to have the reference of "Nirbhaya" as a selling point! ... Sickens me to the core how she keeps getting used till date!

Selling point? Nirbhaya outrage was literally the catalyst because of which Laxmi's case got stronger. She fought harder because of it. And the movie is based on true events from her life and many other acid attack victims. I am not sure how showing an actual fact is 'selling point' especially something that gave the Stop Acid Sale movement the most important push it required. Infact Nirbhaya outrage fastracked many PILs in the country. It was a landmark moment. Do read up.

The trailer wasn't cut well, couldve been better.

But what I can tell from bits and pieces the movie is going to be good. Some scenes really stood out, like when maltii was screaming when the doctors were pouriing water on her, when she saw her face the first time, the flinch when the little boy screamed and of course the stages of grief that she showed: the anger and denial when started throwing her stuff away because she couldn't use it anymore, being rude to everyone around her to finally accepting who she is.

I'll be watching this movie. The trailer might be bad but the story still shines through.
