^ because its unfair to the regional artiste who turned a 7-8 min role into something iconic . When it comes to a full fledge movie it goes to someone whose father is very famous while the original actor is still actively acting

That's pretty common.. for instance.. it was Arshad who made Jolly LLB a hit but when it became a hit, the movie went to Akki..

Although the regional actor and AB would have brought in same value BO wise, probably since the regional actor hasn't yet had a BW movie as lead, they went for someone else

Anyways, the movie will likely flop if Abhi is compared with the original guy.. because acting😆

I wonder why sujoy went for AB though.. he usually gets his casting right

Thats true but Akki is a big star..chota bacchan to fail hain us mamle me. Dont know what box office prospect RCE has seen unless ABsr, jaya mom have agreed to do cameo

RCE? Wouldn't casting be Sujoy's calling? Shah anyways likes Abhi.. so he wouldn't need AB Dr and Jaya's cameo to cast him if Sujoy was on board with it
