I love this scene. Such a range of emotions traversed in the graph of this scene. Quintessential Shivika. And how so naturally it transitions from anger to emotional to comforting to awareness to awkwardness to a so naturally asked “are you embarrassed?” I loved the fact that they can speak about it and Shivay could ask Anika so easily and comfortably. How organic their journey was. We got such gems as Shivika scenes. So many of them.

The thing that strikes me as I rewatch this phase again is the gradual nature of how they developed this phase of growing intimacy between them.....Shivaay started getting more expressive in flirting with her or showing his affection for her after the Mahi track ended....they never relied on 20 minute long eyelocks or endless trip/catch scenes to show attraction deepening between them.....ek hi scene mein kick and panjaa bhi ladaa lete the aur sexual tension bhi express kar lete the😆

This is why their story still has weight after all this time.....and imagine, this was still not even the midpoint of their story....lol....they went through so much in the lead up to and even after the separation....bahut hi gradual development milaa for every phase of challenges and ultimately the actualization of the emotion and passion between them.

So true. Actually when you watch it at a stretch without having to rant over all the peripheral nonsense that was so often present in most tracks of IB I have come to realise that even through the worst tracks of IB Shivika had growth overall. And they grew so organically. There are no jarring sudden shifts from one phase to another. For all the beef I have with her especially for the later nonsense I have to give HS that

Even in the things that pakao me in the most contrived parts of the journey even there if I just look at only Shivika scenes in isolation you can slowly see this change in intimacy and sexual awareness happening over a series of episodes. Even if at the time there often so much surrounding nonsensical drama happening that one might sometimes miss seeing it.

Yes....that "are you embarrassed?" was a landmark for ITV.....he asked her so naturally and in some ways, it was a precursor to the many other candid conversations they would have later about intimacy.

In some ways, people could mock them for taking it that slow and not jumping on each other like most other pairs do by this point in the story😆.....but with these two, the bit by bit building block nature of it at every point....even with the embarrassments or awkwardness or hesitations, or setbacks.....all of it fed into making it meaningful when they finally achieved a culmination....and that is what made it feel natural.

The very fact that they never even realized how they ended up in this intimate position and then even after Anika tried to deflect, he understood that she was actually feeling awkward.....this whole phase was about them being acutely aware of a growing intimacy between them....emotional and physical, even as they tackled larger ideological disagreements like NKK or other personality clashes.

Oh absolutely.....yes, even the worst tracks usually managed to have some growth for Shivika.....this is why he stuck with them for 500+ epis, man....lol cuz there was a shit ton of nonsense otherwise but these two always managed to get some kind of growth....even if we cribbed in real time....lol

As I said, I think the reason I stuck with them was cuz they weren't the 20 minute eyelocks type couples that usually came as a stock package on ITV.....there are other pairs who get decent initial development of the pairing, even convos....but they mostly then devolve into stock eyelock sessions or 2-3 typical romantic scenes ke baad thapp.....lol

These two got a different kind of gradual, organic development and bit by bit built up of various aspects of their relationship.

Word to all of that. So many times I would get fed up and say I should stop watching this when things got too nonsensical and then one good Shivika scene and I would get reeled right back in. I never could ever manage to quit. Ever. Even temporarily. Despite threatening to many times. Shivika just wouldn’t let me :)

What is especially amazing is that they continued to grow and evolve through over 500 episodes. Like you said Even for pairs which are well portrayed and well written this barely last over 200 episodes if that long especially on a GEC. After 6 months it all starts unravelling or max 1 year. Even shows which were good and had good growth and journey for the couple were often ones that didn’t play out for so long. I often wonder what might have happened if they had lasted 500 plus episodes given all the contrivances that are such a part of Indian daily soaps. To sustain that over this long given all the pushes pulls from outside is a feat. Shivika never lost their essence through that entire time frame. Which is why it never grows old no matter how many times I watch. In fact rewatch only makes you cherish them more because now only one can freely enjoy and notice and appreciate things that one might have missed because of the other dimag ka dahi that used to always happen real time 😆

Lol so true 😆.....I’m now even able to watch the Mahi scenes and Pinky scheming scenes aaraam se cuz aage ki Story pata hai for Shivika 😆....which kinda frees you to view the story in a hindsight angle and discover new angles to it.

They were capable of a good journey beyond 500 epis also but then ITV ka curse ultimately brings down everyone. You can survive for only so long before the writers lose their minds and murder their own creations 🤷‍♀️😂

Regardless, as we often say, even getting to the 500 epi point with still notable growth and emotional nuance for Shivika was miracle enough for us to cherish. Lol

Finally caught up on aaj ka epi....bahut hi cute scene tha Amber and Guneet ka....natural/easy convo over old film songs. Nia also noticed them complimenting each other's taste in music.....lol apne app pe compatibility test karegi inka jaldi I guess.

Father-daughter ka drama needs to move forward a bit.....thoda pick up karein with Shweta ki entry into their life.....otherwise toh wohi roz ka hai about Dad getting cranky over feeling neglected by daughter and them fighting about her going to America.

Precap is again kinda weird.....and no sign of Guneet in the next epi :S

I've used this scene in a bunch of my VMs😆

NKK track shuru hogaya.....one of my fav. tracks....brief as it was....lol....Shivaay struggling with NKK while trying to protect Anika at the same time......his fear of losing her so stark in his eyes.....and these are some of their best hugs....when she soothingly brushes his back while hugging him.

This same epi had this hug too after the Kul Gotra pooja scene.....which had some of SC's best voice modulation.....and then came this hug....I loved the way she was holding on to the top of his shoulder as she hugged him tightly in relief.....it's one of their better hugs.....so emotionally done

Aww Shivika had the highest number of hugs than any other ITV couple I'm sure , but i never get bored watching "n" number of their hugs ,.each and every hug is unique and special , each hug is filled with so much love ❤️. ..and the hug in the first two gifs it is my fav too ...I think this scene comes after he went to orphanage home to know her details or he hugging her just before going to Orphanage 🤔... yes He was feeling guilty of what he was doing and at the same time wanting to be more protective of her as his love was increasing with each day in the process of knowing her past and knowing how much she had suffered 😭...

Regarding second set of gifs, its like he was assuring her that nothing can stop him from loving her❤️ ..even her NKK ...Before this scene was aired , i remember laughing at the SBS segment where NM was made to stand on something to get that hug ..lol....but in the episode the hug and the scene turned out to be such an emotional one 😭 and it was done differently from previous ones and it was so ❤️...And it was heartbreaking to watch Anika saying that she has no one blood related and doesnt even know anything about her blood related ones with that shaking voice in Khul gothra pooja..It was most heart breaking scene of Anika for me 💔Aww you are making me emotional by reminding this scene 😆..I get tears every time whenever i watch that kulgothra pooja scene...LOL😂....

What a moment this was when it first aired....abhi bhi it stands on its own level.....because the organic journey till that point enhanced the emotion of it.

I remember i read your post on this scene when this episode was aired ..i couldnt watch it on time on that day...I logged in MF to know the updates on that day and i saw the gifs you posted and went " omg what is this even..they are so freaking awwdorable and how the hell they reached that position " and kept looking at the gifs whole day drooling before i could watch the episode 😂

And the way he showered his love on her by kisses on her head...this was so pure love .. the last bit before she pulled herself away from him feeling awkward when he was caressing her side of the face and head (like she is a small baby ) while looking at her like she is the most precious thing in the world..i love that bit too..Here that gif is not there though...Its difficult for me to describe in words how awwdorable his gestures are here ❤️...I can only drool 😂...This is one of my MOST favourite of Shivika scenes ...😍😍...

Anika should have watched this visual herself without crying to know how much he loves her😂..haha just kidding.... As she was involved more in the crying and she was not even aware of his showering his kisses on her head...lmao..
