But that made it even sadder for me - where once these two would have had a heart to heart, this time they just couldn't... When he was telling Babita that she had cut out and thrown away her jigar ka tukda, his words and agony were of his own feelings. He knows that Babita has finally destroyed what little chance they had of being a happy family and the way he marched off into his room made it clear that he didn't even want to bother discussing this further with her. She wouldn't get it.
I also love that he admitted his own failure to spot what was right in front of him, and even though he didn't voice it he regretted that it was in his obsession with the no more tears policy where Babita was concerned.
I don't know how he'll do it but he will stay married to her, literally until death does them part.
