I think the best thing, the best part in the whole scene where Ranbir defended Prachi was the way he defended her. His tone was so constricted. He was clenching his teeth. His eyes were ablaze. He was making exaggerated gestures.
All this just depicted the huge pain he was in, seeing his ladylove being humiliated right in front of him. He was in pain seeing Prachi helpless and in tears and his pain was turning into barely controlled rage which he was transforming into his words and actions.
Bravo to Krishna Kaul for this piece of acting. For someone with an untrained eye, it would look like overacting but as a theatre person, I could see the amount of effort he put in making it look controlled but angry. Krishna is a relatively new actor and for him to pull off this scene shows how he must be taken seriously as an actor, rather than just his good looks.
I agree, Krishna just nailed the entire scene!! 👏 I have actually loved his acting throughout this Diwali track. His jealousy this time was so different from his jealousy with Rishi-Prachi and he showed it so well. With Rishi he was just jealous and petty, but this time it was so much deeper. He was hurt, frustrated, angry and so helpless seeing her with Sanju, and all of it was so visible. Both the conversations he had with Prachi in the party, you could clearly see how much in pain he was. He really seemed like he'd start crying any moment, and I almost wanted to cry with him 😒
