Abir kept saying he is only physically going, not because he wants to hurt them. Abir has always threatened Kunal and Meenu he may leave, but even back then Kunal constantly blamed Mishti.

Infact it would make more sense for Kunal to blame mishti, because Mishti gave her verdict infront of everyone that she agrees to move out with Abir. Toh Abir is only doing what Mishti agreed for. So kunal she be saying "sab mishti ki galti hai"

But suddenly, Kunal accepts mishbir? Everything has happened in a rush, for the writers to bring in the unexpected big twist..after the family patch-up

Nandu actually one thing which mostly contributed to his change is meenu's words during confrontation on how saving abir from mehul is more important than mishti as this time and also "Not mishti but mehul is the one taking abir away from them"... eventhough kunal was angry on meenu n didnt listen to her at one point still he is meenu ka munna n believes his maa n follows her words.... this was a seed of change in his heart... but then it seems rushed too..

I guess tab Kunal didn't know how well Mishti handles Abir's flight risk situation. Now he knows that Abir will only listen to Mishti, for him to stay at home or not. So Kunal took the chance and accepted Mishbir so that Abir will stay
