Loll, she said to his face today that Babes is everything for her, only her. Baaki sab kuch ni. And from the way she was talking about Ashok's lack of communication with her and how she doesn't want to seeing her energy talking or thinking about the hypotheticals, I got the feeling that she was indirectly about HS too. If he's not going to put in the effort to communicate with her then she's not going to waste her energy on the hypotheticals with him either. She'll just let things be as they are right now and focus on herself.
I also got the feeling that she was indirectly talking about HS too and he was indirectly talking about himself. Another time, HS would have hugged her but here they were standing apart talking like this, about such a serious topic. When HS had gone to see Minnie after he had arrested Ashok, she still wanted to be strong but he was able to get her to open up to him, and then hugged her (one of my all-time favorite scenes). The writers have tried so hard to make us believe HS-Minnie bonding was a mirage but by alluding to that past event, they reminded me of that scene and restored my conviction that I wasn't stupid for believing in their bond and love for each other for 200 episodes.
Still, you can see that he has the ability to see through her and get her, and she still feels she can open up to him. Just like how she's in denial about Ashok's impact on her life, she is also in denial about HS' impact on hers. The way she deflected his questions and tried to put the focus only on Babes was evident and HS got it.
I don't know if Ashok will be back or not, or if she will ever care about HS as a father, but it looks like he will support her in going abroad, getting more success than he had, just like he had told her about chasing her dreams and wishing as a father that his daughter become more successful than him.
And for all the guide/mentor dialogues, what HS did today was exactly what a father does. At least, mine has always done so.
Sigh...
