@bold : no i am not saying so coz the ones who write i know they don't connect but then Because they can write i give them prompts too, i am Jealous of them that they can write without being connected... I on other hand need to connect to the Characters about whom i write in my fictions. Or else I would write an original story not a fanfiction!

Well, nostalgia can be a put off as well as a pull factor as well. We , as human beings always have a penchant for the classic and have the habit of putting them at a pedestal. Characters can be recreated and loved equally. Comparisons are bound to happen because we are stuck with nostalgia most of the times. Some remakes have been great am, some debacles! It depends upon how honest that effort is
