Saroj also has similar views. She said something like.. sindoor mein aap pe bahot jach raha hai. Sach Didi, Pati ke naam ka sindoor hi ek aurat ko khubsurat banata hai or something like that. Basically if you aren’t married, there is no worth to you as woman.

So this promo doesn’t only focus on Babita but all those women who thinks Sindoor, pati, suhaag are woman’s identity.

It’s a great plot only if the message gets across properly. These days I fear execution very much.

A name is part of your identity....it's your choice how you want to keep it.....but you shouldn't be adding a surname to erase your own identity completely and lose yourself in that of your husband or in-laws. That's all Mini is trying to say. Uske liye bhi Mini ko gyaani aur pata nahin kya kya ka label mil raha hai.....LOL

Mini has her own intentions for lying about her true feelings to Babes and HS. Or not telling Babes about her and HS's relationship status.

HS has his own intentions about lying to Babita about him and Mini not wanting a father-daughter label.

Babita has her own intentions about stopping Mini from getting close to Mickey, or wanting HS to act as Mini's father, or concentrating on being a housewife instead of a career-woman.

Sabke intentions unke hisaab se sahi hai. Lekin only Babes gets called out. Whereas HS flaws are easily ignored or intention bolke thik hai kehte hain.

Lol they have already whitewashed Khuranas as if Babita was the one who tortured them for 17 years. Or justified Lovely's action saying "dil ki buri nahi hai". 🤔

I know. Her story had so much potential, much more than any other character. And growth in her character and her progress could have become a much needed silver lining in the regressive and misogynistic Indian TV. And it's not like her growth would undermine importance of other 2 characters. Showing her as a burden means story is going to move in the circle- babita makes mistake, HS Minnie correct her or tolerate the crap, then next day she'll find another mistake to make , HS Minnie will correct her or tolerate the crap...... And if the show still survives because of TRP and they'll run out of all possible mistakes for her to make- I'll be dead by that time and my grandchildren would narrate the end of the story to my tombstone.

As for surname....they define your identity if you choose to let them....if it doesn't matter either way, why is she changing her surname at all? She is Babita first....period....surname toh baad mein aata hai.....does she know herself as Babita yet that she wants to add another surname to it again?

Final call lene ke liye you should be INFORMED as well....Babita doesn't appear to be the kind of woman who even realizes when she's losing her identity....or she wouldn't have spent 17 years losing it the first time around.

Nobody is trying to take Babita's choice away from her.....Mini is trying to inform her....she's worried for her....and frankly, seeing Babita ki harkatein, I can't blame Mini if she is worried for her.....even NB has noticed that Babita is losing her identity in getting carried away.

I dont mind the show showing different problem existing in society. What i dont like is every issue ends with brainless babita saying sorry, and everyone else being angelic and mahaan😵😆

But I have seen such ladies in all generations. These sindoor and suhaag is too ingrained in our culture. It’s not a bad thing but many associate these symbols with worth of a woman.
