We are forgetting here that he is not her father (no matter how much babita wants it, nor will he ever be). He’s never been a father before and he’s suddenly expected to conform to babitas idea on what a father is meant to do/be? How would she even know? Mini’s never had a father before in anything except name and babita was married off at 18 so how would she know how a father is meant to handle a 18 year old? Leave alone one who’s as vocal and headstrong as mini?

So babita expected understanding when she was adjusting into her new role as a wife but expect hs to immediately go from tenant to father mode just because there’s been a wedding?

EVERYONES going through an adjustment phase. The role of step father (especially to someone that’s mini’s age) is very different to the role of father and a man can’t father a grown girl overnight. This relationship is built with time. don’t get me wrong BOTH HS AND BABITA have behaved appallingly since the wedding, and they need their heads banging together, but this “father” thing is too much too soon. He was more of a father when being himself, rather than when trying to conform to babitas warped idea of fatherhood
