Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns Angelina Jolie’s voice for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joins the Disney Universe as she has been roped in to lend her voice for the central character Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie in the Hindi version of the much-awaited fantasy sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been missing in action for quite some time, since her last stint in the 2018 musical comedy film, Fanney Khan. Recently, the beauty made her Paris Fashion Week debut last week, however, her looks have been receiving mixed reviews from designer critics.

Meanwhile, here’s the good news for her fans as Aishwarya has been roped in to lend her voice for the central character Maleficent in the Hindi version of the much-awaited fantasy sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The titular character in the original film was played by Angelina Jolie.

Aishwarya, who enjoys a massive fan following in India, and overseas as well, has managed to mark her name as a Global Icon. Besides having done innumerable projects in Bollywood, she has featured in Hollywood films like The Pink Panther 2, The Mistress of Spices among others.

Bikram Duggal, the Head of Studio Entertainment, Disney India states that he is of the belief that our beloved Aish makes the perfect fit to voice Angelina’s character Maleficent as the actress’s personality showcases the perfect epitome of grace.

“Looking at how Angelina Jolie fits Maleficent’s role down to the letter, it was hard to imagine anyone else essaying the character other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for our local audience. We wanted to build a strong connect and bring her character to life in Hindi and felt Aishwarya’s persona which is filled with elegance and poise would be a perfect blend,” Bollywood Hungama quoted Bikram Duggal as saying.

Well, this piece of good news is bound to make her fans jump with excitement as Aishwarya joins the Disney universe.
