With dramas, I'm probably very extreme and I think a lot more of the stories should end in divorce, lmao. But with this one I'm conflicted the first time. Apart from the rape, I'm pretty willing to write off a lot of Umair's bad behaviour because they were both forced into the marriage and I think a lot of Saadia and Umair's problems stem from the fact that they had no trust in each other, didn't even like each other and their relationship was put under a lot of external stress right from the start.
I also on a level get why the paternity thing came back, because while they'd made up and decided to try with their relationship they hadn't talked about and discussed any of the actual issues- which is why communication is so important.
Umair also genuinely seems to be upset and is sorry for his behaviour, and while he was open in making the mess and making scenes in front of everyone and dragging everyone into his private issues with his wife, he's also equally open about expressing when he's wrong and apologising for it. The man apologised to Ahmer at his mother's funeral, in front of everyone!
So yeah, I don't know. There are things relationships don't recover from- and if they didn't have the rape scenario, I'd probably be more open to a reconciliation. But then the way the writers have had Saadia deal with it confuses me. When Umair apologised to her earlier, it didn't seem to affect her enough for her to say no she didn't want to have a relationship with him. So that shouldn't be the issue that Saadia pushes for a divorce this time.
