Babita said that Ashok loved her a lot, took care of her and never touched her without her consent. They were happy whenever he was with her etc. That's why she was so thrown off when he came back with Meeta.

Ha Ha even I don't expect this coming up but again this justify babita reaction in the initial episodes... Why she was so broken when when she got to know about meeta and also her outburst during hanita marriage... It was not a onesided relation in the starting but gradually it became but she was not able make out that...
