I don't see that happening any time soon..Sacred Games S1 was well received but the second season was already trashed by many and no other show has been nearly as popular. With tv shows the quality of a show can go downhill really quickly

Even network TV in the USA is better than most of its mainstream feature films, for reasons I stated. BW filmmakers have a lot to learn and a lot to unlearn, it seems. Case in point: Sacred Games. The future will belong to 2- or 3-season properties, I think - exactly the model growingly embraced by Netflix: a happy compromise between cash-flow and creativity, because shows won't have the time to go downhill.

Not true..compare the network superhero shows with the MCU and it's obvious which is superior. If anything american tv shows have been declining..before we had the likes of The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, GoT at it's peak..the shows now pale in comparison. I think there is plenty of shit in both, don't think tv shows are superior at all right now

To me, the MCU universe is a load of boring crap, regardless of the medium (that said, Jessica Jones and Legion weren't half bad). 😉 As to shows paling in comparison, puhlease. We have had tons of well written, culturally relevant and fabulously made TV shows in the last decade. Off the top of my head I could mention Person of Interest, Hannibal, The Fall, The Americans, Mad Men, Fargo, and for the most recent endeavours, Sense8, Killing Eve, Russian Doll etc. Of course, none of those could have been made in Bollywood because this industry is cowardly and has no respect for the creatives, and the potential audiences would have loved to find reasons to be offended. LOL

You think shows like Person of Interest and freaking Sense8 (the creators of this show have done nothing good since the first Matrix movie) are on par with iconic shows like Breaking Bad? Wat

Apart from the Americans, Mad Men and Fargo S1-S2 none of these shows are even close to the one's I mentioned before which are some of the best shows of all time.

They wouldn't be made in Bollywood because it's a completely different industry..these are western shows with different ideas and style. There have been plenty of great content driven movies from Bollywood this decade though, it's not like we have just gotten dumb masala.

Most of everything is crap, you just mentioned some great shows. I can mention a dozen that were shit

Agree. Mads was never much of an actress as is put about, but she can dance like a dream. She matched Prabhu friggin Deva.

Also agree Juhi had better chem with both Aamir and SRK. Am glad she never acted with the other one.

Don't see Juhi was more of an actress..she was stuck in "cute" roles for most of her career and barely showed any range. She was good at comedy and the innocent romance type but that's about it.

I do agree she had good chemistry with Aamir (especially) and SRK as well.

SRK had great chemistry with Madhuri in DTPH and Devdas imho, in fact I thought their scenes in the latter easily overshadowed SRK/Aish's scenes together.

SRK and Juhi also had good chemistry in movies like Yes Boss but it was more comedic than really romantic

Person of Interest is one of the best written and most prescient shows in the history of TV - on par with Breaking Bad in terms of themes, character development and critical acclaim. It's OK to appreciate shows which are not Breaking Bad. ;) Bollywood might be a "completely different" industry but let's not justify its backwardness and lack of vision. I'm not saying all feature films suck. I'm saying let's not underestimate TV just because it is convenient.

Agreed. And the whole "Madhuri was not much of an actress because she was a fabulous dancer" logic has no basis in reality, but hey, it's IF, where everyone can have an opinion.

I do appreciate shows that aren't BrBa, the Americans, The Leftovers, Mad Men & Fargo (first two seasons only) are on par and something like The Wire is actually better. Person of Interest just isn't as good as these few, the acting apart from Michael Emerson was nothing amazing and the writing was often predictable and tropey. The last season felt rushed and messy as well. Its not even close to being one of the best shows ever imho but to each their own. In terms of critical acclaim its not close to those either.

I just don't think TV is better or worse than movies, there are really amazing shows and movies but most suck ass. That's just how entertainment works

Bollywood has a lot of room for improvement no doubt but I think it's unique aspects should be appreciated too. We don't need it to be exactly like Hollywood
